TGP Lars main here. I think the question we all should be is asking is... when was Lars ever strong? Seriously... when was he ver strong? There's been so much hype and Hoop-la about Lars from previous installments. Df2 aside, he's basically had the same exact moves with the same exact frame data since T6. All his lows were launch punishable on block since his inception. Most of his mids were (-8) on block since the dawn of time. I just don't see previous installments of Lars being any different besides some of the gimmicky bs I.e. crushing properties in some of his moves in T6 and combo fillers & good bound mechanics in TTT2. With that being said, I think T7 exposed Lars as just not being that strong to begin with. Now, I'll admit, S1 Lars was atrocious. They removed some of his key moves (Df2), crushing properties in his other moves (uf3 & uf4.) He just felt very unsafe but he's gotten slightly better. S3 Lars is the most versatile he's ever been in all Tekken games imo. Again, my point being T7 Lars is not much different from previous installments. Trust me.

And please, don't tell me about his combo filling potential or that he compliments other characters with his good bound mechanics. I don't give a ratsa$$ about his combos and wall combo dmg. Tell me about his fundamentals. Tell me about his lows. Did he have a Kazumi type db4 that's (20f) startup, (+4) on hit and (-12) on block? What about his mids? Were you scared of ducking Lars in TTT2 like you are of ducking Heihachi in T7? How about 'em throw game? Did he have a 1 break and 2 break throw like Dragonov? How about his CH game? Okay, I'll give him this. Df2 was his best move and it was removed and given to Claudio. Lol! Can't complain because Claudio is my main so I welcome it with open arms. What about his frame data? Was it top-tier? Was he a stand alone character? Last I checked, all his lows were launch punishable in TTT2 including the low from SEN. Most of his mids were (-8) on block including the useless df4 was still (-8) at 15f startup --> pathetic! Even I don't agree with Bob being allegedly "broken" as you all put it in T6. T6 Bob is essentially the same character in TTT2 & T7 albeit minor adjustments i.e. D1. I think what TMM said about Bob in T6 rings true. He said..."it wasn't so much that Bob was broken but that other characters were very weak like Kazuya. Why use a high execution character like the Mishimas when you can use a easy mode Mishima like Bob because he was well rounded and he was easy to pickup." To conclude, TTT2 was all about combos. And Lars did pretty well in that department but he was lacking in everything else. Every player you faced in TTT2 was just looking forward to launch your @$$. If you ever faced a Mishima, all they ever did was sidestep, backdash, sidestep (like they're having a seizure), make you whiff, EWGF to Tag out then its Ultra Combo time! The game was basically a MVC in 3D. One combo and then your dead or at the wall about to be dead. Poking, neutral was practically useless in online play. Once again, T7 exposed Lars as just not being very good.
