Hey what's up? In this video I discuss all of the items included in LootCrate's 3rd 2021 NECA Ninja Turtle crate. 2021, but released in 2022 and the 3rd even though the 2nd hasn't been released yet. I go over the Claw Shredder's comic book history, discuss his other forms in 2 very different TMNT cartoons, compare him to 2 other Claw Shredder toys and more!

Thank you! Not to toot my own horn, but that’s exactly why I do it! I kept getting annoyed when I kept hearing reviewers call the Retro Mutagen Ray Generator a gun haha. “For some reason Splinter has a gun.” It drove me insane haha. I think if Neca is doing everything they can to include obscure items and fan favorite unreleased characters then hopefully people want to know more about them.

When I think of Mirage Ninja Turtles, I always imagine the various video game covers with all that awesome art. Those squarish Ninja Turtle designs. Sort of how the 2003 series looked but I'd love figures that were so detailed like those old video game boxes during the original Turtle Mania.

Great review! Loved all the Mirage comic, 2003 cartoon and Nick Cartoon stuff you compared it to! Your wish is granted! You get the 4 Turtles in “Return to NY” style! Even the hooded Raph! And yes sir…Shrimp Shredder, 4 arm Shredder en Triceraton are coming to! Time for me to pick up the Mirage line again!

I can't wait to get the whole Return to NY set! It's really neat that they decided to dedicate themselves to a single storyline like that. We just need a deformed Shredder. It'd be cool if they continue to make different style Turtles. I'd even like to see Zulli Turtles.

Great review! I don't end up watching many of your reviews, but when I do they are always very good, and filled with plenty of extra information. Either information that I had forgotten or never knew. I never read the comics as a kid, but I did get the hardcover Ultimate Collection volumes several years ago. And I must say that the Return to New York story arc is one of the best. I was a big fan of the worm Shredders. I too hope we get the other two. (Along with remakes of the Turtles, Shredder, Footsoldiers, and April. I still kick myself for passing on the 4 pack with Shredder, an Elite, and 2 regular Footsoldiers, that was on Amazon for $80. But at that point I had no Neca TMNT figures) I never knew about that Shredder head coming back, but that's because I only bought Tales of the TMNT volumes 1 and 2. When Mega Contrux had the turtle license, I bought so many of those sets. I made a custom turtle lair, channel 6 news van, Rat King, Master Tatsu, and I even made my own custom worm Shredders, but the colors were a bit off, so I took pictures in black and white. I'll see if I can find those pictures and share them in the post you made about this review in that Facebook group. Once again, a great review. Lengthy, but filled will all kinds of great info.

I also picked up the issue because I liked the cover art with the Triceratons, Turtles and the soldiers are all fighting, not knowing they were linked lol there was a pile of like 50 comics and I just picked 2 randomly.

I did not even know about this loot create. Maybe I was in the wrong site, but where exactly do I go to to get updates like this? Nevertheless I like how both the 2003 and the 2012 series utilize the clone Shredders. I especially like the forearm Shredder from the 2012 series kind of reminds me of GORO. This figure may not be my cup of tea, mostly because I’m a guy who is very particular about his figures, but I have to say it does look awesome.

He was up for preorder with the other 3 loot crates in feb last year. They took forever to ship them. I think maybe Neca put out a post about it back then. I’m pretty sure I saw them advertise the TMNT loot crates and then people were talking about them in Facebook groups. I actually put up a news video about it last year where I discussed who all the figures were. That was one of the 2 times where I actually had time to do a video about a news item haha. Yeah the 4 arm shredder reminds me a lot of Goro too. I’m really hoping for them to put him out. Neca did a good job making Antrax with 4 arms so I know they can do it! Both the 2003 and 2012 shows were great. I’ve been meaning to start watching 2003 over again,

Sorry I didn’t write sooner. I can’t believe how expensive both issues have become! I think I got mine originally for 2 bucks a piece at bill and walts in Pittsburgh. Have you checked out all your local comic shops and asked? Sometimes comic stores overlook Tmnt prices and think they’re not worth a lot. They also may have them in their extra stock and not in the main store. I’ve also gotten lucky at comic conventions. I found Tmnt adventures 71 and 72 for a dollar a piece because some dude thought they didn’t matter. Good luck!

Awesome review as always. My comments: - I agree that Jim Lawson was great during that arc, probably in part due to the excellent inking job as you mentioned. After that, he kind of further defined his own style.... but I prefer the earlier stuff - I agree we need "evolved" Mirage turtles from NECA. I'm sure they're coming very soon. - You think Shredder looks weird in issue 3? I've always been confused by that panel and chalked his look to the dark art style more so than he looking deformed due to the worms - IDW recolors should have followed the style of the First Comics colorization, IMHO

I thought maybe he was deformed because he tells Leo he’s grotesque. I always thought he was extra mad at the turtles because now that he’s been cloned he’s also gross looking. I agree the inking can heavily change Lawson’s art. I think even some of the city at war issues the inkers were giving people better looking faces than what he was drawing at the time. His art on tales of the Tmnt volume 1 was alright from what I remember, but didn’t look anything like his later stuff. I recently went through the whole Peter Laird blog, backed it up and saved all of the photos just in case it ever gets taken down. In one of the comments someone asked him what he thought about IDW coloring on top of the duo tones and he said they specifically saved the clean line art so that the comics could be colored like they are in the first comics. I agree with Mr. Lairs that coloring and duo tone don't work well, it's best to work from line art only. Thanks for your nice comments - also, I have the same issue with IG, sometimes it doesn't notify my until way after the fact, especially when it comes to PMs

So you saying you’re the only one that got the right size shirt??? Everyone pretty much got the wrong size shirt. I’m sure you heard about people complaining that a lot of them got the wrong size shirt. Lootcrate just threw in any size shirt, so I would most definitely check the size shirt you got. You might actually got a larger then an medium or even a small. Good chance it’s the wrong size. Just make sure you check that out.

i ordered box 1 and 2, 1 never showed up, they coudnt replace the order and i ended up getting a refund after waiting a year for nothing, and now this 2nd one is supposedly delayed till q3 of this year. im personally never ordering from them again.

I decided not to get this crate, and kind of have mixed feelings about it. I like the Shredder clones as I'm a big Mirage fan, but the delays and complaints everyone had makes me glad I didn't drop for this one. But it's still a nice figure and does make me regret not going for it.

@@MonsieurJimjams you lucked out! I didn’t even know that they released it until much later. I was so bummed when they initially canceled those foot figures because of Playmates. When found out that they eventually did release them and I missed out I was bummed haha. Neca really needs to put them out again since they were only a con exclusive. I missed the spirit of splinter crate because I either missed the news about it or didn’t realize it was an exclusive. Were you happy with Spirit Splinter?

@@razrentals8897 Yeah, I got the original comic ones back in 2008 and was so annoyed when they cancelled those villains, so I had to jump on them the second they announced them. They really do need to re-release them (surprised they haven't yet). I have heard they're redoing the turtles again, but a different sculpt. Yeah, Spirit Splinter was pretty nice. It's one of those "not necessary figures", as it's a redo of the Splinter but in blue. I have it stored away at the moment so I can't recall what else came in the box.

..as for the Color Classics book. I have it and was also a bit thrown off with the coloring. The coloring of the 3 Shredders made them look bad. What pist me off was...in the original 80s tpbs...Shredder and the Foot Soldiers were red...yes Red! Yet in the Color classics book..their blue??? I picked up on that right away and then compared my old book 80s book. They just colored shit from their ass!
