I think you hit it on the nail. IF I wanted quality and stability, I would go for Fanstoys but since I plan on displaying this and maybe playing with its transformation once or twice; there's no justification for me to pay an extra hundred for Fanstoys. I think xtransbots knew they were outclassed thus the mini-figures. There's no other reason to have those with a Perceptor figure. Even with that they knew their product is just another mess. They needed to get ahead of any problems with that much, MUCH lower price. On that note, this is the reason why I never believed that companies had to jack up their prices by $80 to $100 per figure due to rising costs of production. No company would ever sell their product below cost and even at this price, Xtransbot will make a small profit. Granted that material, labor and shipping prices have gone up but I truly believe that 75% of all that higher price are simply from market demand. Companies know their product will still sell at their over-inflated prices. $130 for Janssen the same price we would have paid for this type of product 3 or 4 years ago.

I have to agree...Fans toys lacking the butterfly joint, XTB should really take that category. Janssen just looks better IMO and while build is important, how it looks and posing options on my shelf are what count for me. So far no issues with my Janssen, but I had some close calls while transforming him. I have XTB winning 5 to 3, as I give sculpt and articulation to them. FT almost always wins IMO so this is a step in the right direction for XTB. Its nice to have choices.
@christianc.christian5025 Жыл бұрын
@@mikecesca5187Yeah, a few very odd “scoring” comparisons in this video where it kind of looks like the decision to make the robot you *want* to win then actually end up doing so shines through. Nice review. I have to say that FT is the better figure but XTB is the better Perceptor. For a figure to just go on the shelf and not be transformed much if at all, Janssen would be the better pick, and the fun accessories give it so much more value. The build quality is a shame, but I feel as long as you are aware of what they are and the little bits like the front flaps sticking sometimes, they are just annoyances.

@@TMReviews Always love the comparisons, it's helped me to decide on figures from two companies before. Just a suggestion, but during the articulation or maybe as a different segment related to it, but would a posing category make sense for these kinds of reviews? Because articulation by itself is nice and useful, seeing the figures posed while utilizing the articulation can offer more insight on the benefits or limitations of them. Like an ankle rocker without forward or backward tilt is very limiting when you want to do certain poses.
@michaeldemontis12872 жыл бұрын
You gave articulation to FanToys? No butteryfly joint (which you missed to mention and IMO, a must for a masterpiece), need to mess with the shoulder to get full 90, need to remove waist tab to get a waste swivel (lots say its optional but it takes away from Toon Aesthetic) , need to un-tab the chest piece to get a ab crunch. It takes a lot of engineering make this work. XTB is the more highly articulated figure by a landslide.

I definitely agree with in regards to articulation. Janssen is far better. The build quality shouldn’t take away from that fact.

@InfinityCartier2 жыл бұрын
Something I don't see mentioned much is that Janssen also has a waist tab. It has to be pushed down manually but it doesn't impede the waist swivel and it slides back up so as not to impede the ab crunch.

Damn, XTB looking like a real KO company in this comparison. But if you wanna save $100 and all you're gonna do is pose your character and never touch it again (as most of us do with our MP displays) then XTB seems a good option. Fair assessment. Articulation is closer than I think some mention...moving pieces for extra angles can sometimes break the illusion. Butterfly is something that is a nice to have, personally it should be on more figures, and could be a judge factor. Pins are a pain due to loosening over time but overly tight tolerances can be an issue as well. I'm anticipating images of arms being stressed on both due to transformation Look wise...Janssen has it IMHO..but having both in hand, not at the same time yet, one really can't go wrong. But that's the "fun" about having an opinion.
@ericbarendrecht26412 жыл бұрын
Please feel free to disagree, but i think a mistake was made when scoring the articulation. The XTB has additional hands swivels for in/out as well as a butterfly joint for the shoulders.

Great Comparison, and you made a lot of good(Bad) statements about XTB. Having both, well all 3...FT is the More Premium Product. With that said, I believe XTB wins Overall. Not by much, but a win is a win. Many if not the Majority of MP collectors are looking for the more Perfect Perceptor and XTB nailed it with Skulp, Paint/colors, Asseccories, and Price. My results would be 4 to 4 and anytime XTB can tie FTs...Its a win for XTB.

I agree with your point 💯💯...the problem with the thighs that all reviewers point to isn't a problem for displaying collectors which is the vast majority although some MP collectors might "play" with their figures...for me, the mainline is for playing & MP is for displaying...Janssen's thighs do not separate on the shelf & mine is in a dynamic pose...FT is a better overall product but price point for a figures use is a factor...maybe use XTB for toon & FT for IDW

IMO It was a very Fair, Honest Review and Comparison of the two Companies product offerings. What I take away from this, XTB is nipping at FTs heels. They are NOT there yet, but Janssen clearly shows they are on the right path. I really thought that XTB, might HIT it out of the Park with this one and steal the WIN. Especially after their Kupp fiasco. A closer loss that many realize. Maybe XTB gets them next time, and they might, should they take what they have learned from this and apply it to their next several products that are in the pipeline due to be released. If they can keep the Price Point where it is, or even a slight increase but still noticeably cheaper than FT, with the Improvements needed, Spit and Polish if you will, on the FINAL PRODUCT, FT will have no choice but to either attempt to step up their game somehow, or perhaps lower their Price Point to compete with a company that will be on equal footing. Thank you for the review, although you may be somewhat bias, you are by far more unbiased than several of the other Big Name reviewers out there. You know, the ones that tend to be overly HARSH on certain companies, and sometimes rightly so, while being kid gloves with other certain ones.

My copy of XTB doesn't have any problems with the feet & I kno, as a reviewer, u get earlier copies so maybe that's the problem...XTB does have separation in the thighs but as a collector that displays my figures rather than play with them, Jansen sits solid on the shelf...NONE of my comments are meant to say FT isn't a better figure cuz I believe it is but to me FT isn't the definitive choice as they usually are...at $100 more, it should be $100 better...again, for collectors that transform back & forth or that constantly change positions I can see XTB being a little frustrating...I move my figures maybe twice a month & XTB has been stiff so far...

Tesla has a better engineering, the transformation is similiar but simpler and smoother, and shows that you can achieve the same results than X-transbots without overcomplicating things. The way the arms retract into the chest is the perfect example. But, since they are very similar, anyway, there is really no justification fot the 100$ price difference.

Do you work for fanstoys?? I have both of these figures and my Jansen is nothing like yours common theme with your comparisons fanstoys always wins bias is for what you like best but more often with these reviewers they seem to like the company fanstoys best instead of what's nice for their collection. I have tons of fanstoys in my collection maybe 20 to 25 but I also have many other figures. when you do comparisons right from the start your viewers already know who you will choose from the way you treat each figure your bias is apparent from the start why even bother like i said i have both and they are about equal and your Jansen is screwed up mine is not what did you do to it

Fans toys has lost multiple times, so that tells me you don't watch my videos, I also stated right up front that every video has bias including mine, so you just don't watch or listen but leave comments anyways

It sound honest at first that you'll try an objetive comparison.... But it was really clear that your subjetive visión win. The way you Review every inch of XTB looking for fails make You a classic Fanstoys defensor

You clearly didn't watch the whole review because I addressed this in the review

Not only is it obvious that you didnt watch this video,its also apparent that you that you never watched any of his videos. He tells it at is is; the XTB here is not built very well,its not just his opinion,but seems to be a general consensus among most of those who have reviewed it.

I also admitted I am biased and this is my opinion, never claimed it was completely objective altho I try my best

@@TMReviews I think an option when you compare articulation is to compare without having to move any piece etc to get the articulation. Only think that makes sense are hip skirts where you allow for that piece to move out of the way. That would be most objective and fair as some will say oh moving this piece to get access to this articulation is fair/not fair.
