Instead of using a bunch of pins I use some light glue which sticks quickly but also washes out in the machine , it’s so much better and easier when the motifs are on the fabric all around not gaping gaps with the pins

Hi Tracy. Thank you so much for this and for all the work you do to break everything down to make it easy for us. I started by making your bags... I'd never have figured it out in a million years without you, and I made some nice things. I've never been able to make clothes, but I have just done your three tiered skirt with flannel shirts, and I applique a bit on it as well. Cant believe how good it turned out, and I love it! 25:20 Rather than slipping the sleeve over the sewing machine arm, turn sleeve inside out. Place the area to be appliqued facing up on machine bed under machine needle and sew. All the bulk of the garment is pushed out of the way and you are more able twist the sleeve left and right as needed. This method allows easier maneuverability of sleeve (pant leg, cuff) and works better for me. I hope I explained it clearly 😊💜

There are some good hand stitching tutorials on KZbin for people who either don't want to spend money on a machines or have a space for it. It works on most fabrics but knit. It does take a long time but it is attractive. It's also portable. I don't remember who I watched. I just watched multiple people and tried it. I do have a machine but I really just don't understand how to make it stitch the way I want and it's always in the way.

Great coat......I use free motion to stich round applique as much quicker....and also use bondaweb to stick applique to fabric.....otherwise, all you do has been such an inspiration and creative help for me! Please keep the videos coming

Have you ever heard of a knee lift? It is a game changer if your machine has a hole for one I cannot recommend it enough! It eliminates using your hand to lift the presser foot and makes applique go so tast!
