The way the murderer's lawyer is trying to make out that Mr shaw is a liar is a joke honestly the guy risked his life not only to save his life but others what happened that day was clearly traumatizing to everyone who got injured and it can cause people to forget things

Well since they are claiming insanity, I'd guess they're trying to have him put in a mental hospital instead of jail. Defense claims he's been schizophrenic for awhile with documented episodes. Too early to know if that is true or not.
