I think it sounds good. I’ve tried many methods. I’m about to install this in both my rezo guitars. I’m always surprised at how few people I see are using K&Ks preamps. I have two. One I bought 20 years ago and another called a quantum blender. I find their preamps add another level of quality to the sound of these transducers. Tried a few brands. I love K&Ks. Nicely done presentation. 😊

I notice a bass-treble balance issue with the K & K pickup compared to the mic. The treble string amplitude is notably less than the bass strings. Supposedly K&K did some improvements to fix this. Seems your pickup is an earlier iteration.

Well if it is I must've gotten an old one. Looks like the improvements were done in December 2017. I bought this one 5 years later than that. I have thought about moving it around a bit to see if there's a difference though. I do agree that the treble strings are weaker...

Count yourself fortunate. I have one installed on my Delphi and even with the highs and mids turned all the way down, its still grating on the ears. Your pickup sounds great by comparison. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and spring for the Fishman Jerry Douglas Aura and see if that helps. I've got a bunch of different pickups in resos that seems like the path of least resistance.

Hey Steve I’m curious if you can place a humbucker Krivo and see what a second passive channel adds to the mix? I’m guessing all sorts of possibilities! Nice job. I was looking for a demo on the K&K

@@tnerbelbag I got the Krivo. Sending it through a Keeley caverns reverb echo pedal, Baggs preamp equalizer and it’s pure bliss! Blending the two is defiantly a tone ticket for resonator guitar.

Sounds amazing! Sold! I have a humbucker on my reso but the controls are bulky and falls off occasionally. Attached with Command hook tape. I don't want to glue it down.

@@endo-poptart the Krivo I found works best with nickel plated strings. I’m using GHS 14’s

Nice, Brent! I have a slimline, National humbucker on my National Tricone, but have been underwhelmed with the thin tone I’m getting with the BB on my single cone reso. Any install tips? I followed the K&K instructions exactly, but have a piercing, very unpleasant high end and glassy tone when using the bottleneck. Thanks!
