R.I.P. Mike Maples 3/5/2019.....Mike had a wealth of knowledge about Cades Cove, the Smokies, and Gatlinburg area...Big loss to the History lovers....

Awesome videos ! Seems like life was much simpler back then and Neighbors were true Neighbors helping each other whenever needed. It has truly changed dramatically in my 44 years of going there. What will the next 44 years bring ?

Thank you for giving me such a wonderful trip down memory lane. And I wish I was there to see it from the beginning to now. I've been going to Gatlinburg since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and now I am 48 years old and I still crave Gatlinburg. It's my addiction.

Just watched all three parts of this awesome series!!! I wish I could have seen it back then... Great job!!! Amazing how you lined up all the pictures to the areas for the "then and now" shots!!! A work of art!!! Rocky

I find it interesting, knowing my mom’s people lived in those mountains for hundreds and hundreds of years before these folks rounded them up and didn’t even give em anything. The sent them to Oklahoma during the trail of tears. I’ve heard it said that what goes around comes around.
