I have been looking for this for years and years. You have no idea how much this means to me. I first saw this with my dad. We had it taped and I wore the tape out. My dad has passed on but I feel him next to me right now. This was my childhood!

Such a great voice. And this type of music was not popular in the 1980's. Thanks Randy!

Little did that audience know that in very short time Randy Travis would be one of the biggest country stars.

@ JJ, So true, he didn't know it either. Just watched an Opry special, where they were honoring Randy's being a member for 35 yrs. Hard to believe it has been that long ago when he first came on the scene. But in regard to his becoming one of the biggest stars of Country music WB's A&R head ( Lacy) showed a huge picture with some of Randy's biggest selling albums across the bottom. And on the piece, they had written in bold black script 1.6 BILLION times a Randy song had been listened to. Absolutely stunning statistics.

@Shamarti4 жыл бұрын
Damn, every one of these songs are hits. Not too many people can say that about an album. He is one of the best in an era that was needing someone to fill the shoes of the legends before him. He, Dwight, Alan, Steve Earle got the industry going back in the right direction.

I have his book too, not at all surprised by some of the revelations. I agree everyone should read it. They just might come to understand why his life spiraled out of control there for a brief period. I think we all would be hard-pressed to not find ourselves in some state of unraveling in similar circumstances.
