No Mam, SET is only qualifying exam. You have to pass and get into merit list of the TRB Recruitment for Assistant Professor Written Exam conducted by TRB. The Pass mark (to be qualified as SET Cleared) cannot be determined now. To get into the 'consideration' of merit list of TNSET you have to take aggregately 40% (120 marks out of 300) combining both paper 1 and paper 2 even if you take 120 marks you will not be said "SET Cleared" This 120 marks is to get into the merit list preparation. Those who take 120 marks are listed category wise and subject wise and in the list top 6% candidate only considered as SET Cleared. for example if 1000 candidates have scored marks more than 120 in MBC category in a Particular subject 6% of top 1000 candidates (60 candidates) are qualified and they are given the SET certificate. This is as per NET qualifying scheme. If TNSET also follows the same then the same method will be followed. However relexation can also be given by the state government in deciding the % of candidates to be qualified.

Mam, For competitive exams like SET/NET or TRB neenga syllabus la irukura yella topics kum in depth padika vendiyathu avasiyam mam. There is no such important topics. Questions may appear from any part of the syllabus. But however if you take practice tests on previous year papers, you will come to know what are the topics questions are frequently occuring in the exams.

No mam. that criteria is not now. Aggregate marks of 40% (120 marks) can be taken combinedly with paper 1 and paer 2. But however you have to score more marks atleast 250 above to get SET cleared. This will vary according to subjects and the community you belong and the number of candidates appearing for the same subject with same communal category. If for example if a candidate is scoring 130 and belongs to MBC category and subject is Computer science, then they will take all candidates marks who scored more than 120 in the same subject and same communcal category and for example if there are 1000 candidates in the list by marks listed in ascending order then top 6% (6% of 1000 -- 60) that is 60 candidates are said to be SET cleared. so even you come in the list of qualification and if you are not coming in top 6% then you are not eligbile.

No mam for language major candidates you will get questions in Paper II only in Tamil. For the Paper I alone you will get in both english and tamil.

Mam, in SET 2024 you get questions both in tamil and english, Materials for preparion are mostly in english only. Also for SET no descriptive only Multiple choice quesitions. It is better to attend and practice more practice test. Which ever language is comfortable for you can prepare accordingly.
