In this video, I take some 'newish' gas cans that everyone hates because they are hard to use and have terrible fuel flow through them, and for really cheap, fix them to work 100 x better by simply adding a new nozzle, but more so, by adding a vent valve. If you have not done this already I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Hey Chris..enjoyed the video...i despise the new style nozzles too. Question..any chance of debris getting inside the gas jug when drilling the pilot hole? Steve...ps, i still enjoy the coasters i purchased!

There is a chance yes. I drilled them while empty then used a small amount of gas to swirl around and clean them out but did not see any particles, but would agree it could happen. Half of my cans do have an internal filter screen that would catch any plastic bits but the other half do not.

I miss when gas cans came with vent caps. It made since to avoid pressure build up on the cans.

Full agreement. I've seen these type swell up looking like about to burst because I have left it on the trailer in the sun too long etc. Then to fix, you loosen the cap and self-vent to the atmosphere anyways, defeating the purpose of not having a vent in the first place. I need to do this sometime. My containers only have top handles. How you suppose to hold it in fill position without a back handle 🤦‍♂️. Nozzle used to take 3 hands before i cut a bunch of latches and springs out. What brand of containers are yours?

Good idea. My gosh - the world we live in today. For the sake of safety, they now manufacture gas cans that require 3 hands to operate and end up spilling more fuel than the old style. It may just be me - but - if someone can't operate the old-style gas cans, then maybe, just maybe, they have bigger problems then pouring gas and the rest of us shouldn't have to suffer because of it.

RK had a similar spout but 9 bucks a piece. The only problem I incurred was little strap holding vent cap failed. I did have better luck placing nozzle in tank, then opening vent. Thanks for sharing.

Government regulations. Not sure if the case everywhere, but here they are regulated. Purpose? Fuel vapors?
