Some of you may find this interesting! This is a 50's 16mm print of a 1943 Technicolor cartoon made by Columbia Studios. The original cartoon runs about 7 minutes...and these are just scenes from it...its definitely off the wall! This was listed and sold on EBay back in 2012 and this clip was used to sell it. (Sold for $225)
These prints were original rented to people who owned a projector...and were rented from a film library..typically for $5 to $10 for the weekend. This print was from a New Jersey rental library in Roselle Park thats long defunct -- Union County Film Service. These prints, once returned to Columbia, were destroyed or thrown away, so almost NONE survive these days!

This was a reissue. The cartoon was originally produced by Dave Fleischer in 1943. I saw a black and white print years ago with the original titles and credits. A color print of the original version would of course be most rare. But this still has great value since the negatives are reported to have been altered with the "Columbia Favorites" titles added for reissue.

Just saw this on Antenna TV. They show the old Columbia cartoons Saturday and Sunday mornings, but yes, that Hitler bit was cut out, mainly because now it would look so out-of-place, but it is interesting he shot himself in the cartoon two years before he shot himself for real.

What a cool thing that you found one of his original productions 😀😄😃👍🏻. I just found out more about Frank Tashlin today about his work, I had know idea that he was mainly responsible for creating The Loony Tunes 😀. I have seen some of his work when I was young growing up, My favorite is when Daffy Duck confronts the Animator it’s hilarious 😂.

Mr. Tall looks to be based off of Dan Backslide and Mr. small a combination of the Dover Boys. It also sounds like Mr. Tall is voiced by the narrator of The Dover Boys.
