Naomie Watts is profound, real, such a generous friend to share as much affection, and encouragements toward her friend ! Naomie Watts just ignore how magnificient is her authentic personnality ! She reigns in this speach as much as Nicole Kidman, and she deserves the same high honnor as a kind human, and as a genuine actress !

I don't know why, but these types of events make me feel uncomfortable. The rich and famous gather together to celebrate another rich and famous for something that doesn't really matter. What about the doctors or nurses saving lives...? Or charity workers who give their last money to homeless kids somewhere in Africa where even clean water is a luxury... We are living in such a f... up world. Peace.

@L1623VPАй бұрын
Exactly. This all comes off as so shallow and meaningless. It doesn't matter whether it's the Oscars, one of the other ump-teen awards shows, or "achievement" recognitions like this, it's just the rich and famous getting together to congratulate themselves on existing. It's just one big mutual admiration society and is beyond pretentious.

I understand what you are saying, however these things aren't for the recipient. They are for everyone else to feel good complimenting and celebrating the recipient. It's a community bonding thing. I'm sure Nicole realizes that. She doesn't need the ego stroking, and is graceful in understanding that others want to show their appreciation for and her work. Like how it can sometimes make you feel closer to someone better when you compliment them or give something to them.
