The fact she jump off the building while dancing is heartbreaking.

Recently, the United Nations Human Rights Committee has indicated that Japanese anime should be regulated, based on the opinion that Japanese anime promotes sexism and violence. Anyone who watches this episode and believes that anime promotes sexism and violence is a weirdo who thinks that regulating anime is more important than stopping war. I don't think a story like this would be possible if we were regulating it for political correctness.

The sad part is that she felt like she didn't do enough, even though her daughter was happy in every single picture or memory we saw. That was heartbreaking and BEAUTIFULLY TRAGIC! Yeah she became a Yokai, because young Aira triggered her motherly instincts and I think that's why her domain is pink like her hair. I think those guys sold her daughter (human trafficking). People say in the manga the author showed them reunite and that's why Aira said "they" (as in she hopes both of them go to a kinda world). That episode was unexpected and it's true that you can never know what you'll get from Dandadan [70 out of 10] Brilliant👏

Not Spoiler: In the manga when She dances, She was in the top of building and She jumped with her dance but it wasnt adapted in the anime, Maybe because they were afraid that people would be inspired by that scene

It was adapted tho

You can tell she is dancing on a rooftop and she jumps. Then her life flashes in her eyes and you here the thump.

Not obviously adapted because suicide is taboo topic in japan. It is subtle

There are like two frames of her feet clearly standing on an edge, VERY subtle though i didn't catch it.

In the manga on chapter 17 last page, it just shows the mom & daughter holding hands together, there are some assumptions: 1. Mom & daughter both died, and their spirits went together into a kinder world. But the author never specifically tell how her daughter died. 2. It's just Aira's pray or imagination screens about them be in peace and goes to a kinder world. Could it be her daughter still alive?

To give a bit of her backstory, she was a single mother with one daughter. She used to be a ballerina, but now she works multiple jobs (including prostitution). She owed a debt, her daughter was one day taken by debt collectors. In desperation, she jumped off the roof of a building. Of course, this is a fictional story, but it raises the question-why didn’t she go to the police? Such a scenario seems unlikely in modern Japan (or perhaps I’m just unaware…). After her death, she became a ghost and wandered until she met Aira, who mistook her for Aira's mother. Having forgotten her own daughter, she came to believe that Aira was her child and possessed her in order to protect her. Later, Aira was able to recognize her when Aira picked up a golden ball.

Prostitution is illegal in Japan, she very likely would've gotten into a lot of trouble if she went to the police and had to explain why the attack happened. The money thing was likely somehow linked to the prostitution, or just the fact that she knew those men who were obviously criminals, could probably get her trouble too.
@kaztakashi12 күн бұрын
@@bandit_of_trash Prostitution is technically illegal in Japan, but enforcement is not particularly strict. Of course, it depends on the type of prostitution, but if a child were kidnapped, the police would intervene, and it would become a major news story, reported on TV every day. A situation like this might have been different 100 years ago, but not in modern Japan.

@@kaztakashi Even if the police were called, it would be useless. Even if the police brought the bad guys to justice, they would investigate the single mother and find that she had no stable job and income (the screen showed that those jobs were temporary jobs, not formal positions). This would be considered as not being qualified for foster care by a social welfare agency and her daughter would be taken away from her. The Japanese government does not attach much importance to supporting single-parent families, not to mention that she also broke the law and might face jail time. Either way, she would be separated from her daughter, and the result of separating her from her daughter would make her life worse than death (as can be seen from the demonstration later)

@@ts012423333 In Japan, foster parents are relatively rare, but on the flip side, most single mothers have access to support systems. If someone cannot work, there is welfare available (though perhaps it’s not sufficient... but there are no street children in Japan). I’m not sure what you know about Japan, but this story is purely fictional, not a social commentary. People like you, who struggle to distinguish between reality and fiction, should probably avoid watching such stories. It’s very offensive.

@@kaztakashi English is not my native language. I used a translator so some of the words may be strange. Reality is often more cruel than fiction. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I don't want to criticize the policies of certain countries, but to express my thoughts on the actual situation.. Here is a data "According to a survey by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), 56% of single-parent families in Japan are below the poverty line, the highest among more than 30 OECD member countries". I suggest you watch a documentary called "The Ones Left Behind" to face this social issue

They adapted this episode so well and as I said "episode 7 is going to be a masterpiece" I'm happy that science saru is putting this much effort and a tip :- whenever there's a backstory in dandadan, be prepared because this is just the start because there will be more for you waiting
