Wonderful music. This man, by the way, is the reason why I wanted to learn to play guitar ... at the age of 43! Now, 4 years later and far from perfection I am even able to play a few of his easier songs. This is a little dream come true for me.

I was there the night he put that long narrow gouge right behind the bridge. It was at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. A great show in which he reminisced a great deal about playing with Phil, his brother who had recently passed away.

I heard the album "The Day Fingerpickers Took Over the World" when I was eating in a restaurant and the chef had it playing in the kitchen. I was immediately struck by how new, but how familiar, it sounded to me, but I couldn't ask what it was. It was only months later when I bought the CD and realized that it was familiar because it was Chet, but it was new because it was an artist I had never heard before, Tommy Emmanuel.

I get the feeling you added a bit yourself Tommy 😂
@asandiegoguy Жыл бұрын
Yep, he most certainly did, listen to early versions, and you’ll hear how much he has improved it. Muriel Anderson plays what i think it’s the original version which is very nice, but the B part is not nearly as well thought out. In my opinion. I think Tommy used to play it that way too.
