The man Sammy. He is a natural singer. I first met him in 1974 when he sang and played rhythm guitar in a band called "The Young Impressions" with Joey Samoroo on Lead and Eddie Clark on Base. He hung out a few times with me in Vreedenhoop. He can sing. I learned a lot from him and Sach Persaud. Musical aspirations in Guyana evaporated between 1976 and 1978 and pretty much all left or changed careers.

Would have been a big hit if this was released in the US. Sammy sounds like an American. His 'Hotel California' was also very spot on. this song has the feeling like it belongs in a James Bond movie of the 70's. just great. Sammy was underappreciated in Guyana and unfortunately still is.

If this song was covered by a famous singer it would be a world hit. It's got so much soul. I wish Mariah Carey or Brian McKnight would do a cover of it. Beautiful song.

This song came out when Guyana was going through a hostile transformation/recession and myself and other dead friends played this son umpteen times over rum at a bar opposite starlite cinema in pouderoyen saying thanks for a son of guyana with whom I sport time in the bad houses in Gt back in my high school days. Dont laugh,it a fact. A real food at high school.
