To Build A Home | Merlin [Show Tribute]

I don't know how and where to start.
I am still crying, I cried the whole night and it feels like I'll never be happy again.
Merlin is over for good and I don't know how to handle that.
I've been following and loving this show for about 3 years now. I stumbled upon it while studying math and my TV was running as a sideline. And there was Merlin (1x09) on TV and well, forget math and discover your favourite show...
The show got a huge place in my heart and it will always have.
One of my friend always says that it is just a stupid show about a little guy talking with dragons but for me it isn't. It is a great story about friendship, faith, magic and especially two guys and their endless love for eachother (you can see it in any way you want but seriously, nobody can ever deny their love for eachother). Merlin and Arthur's relationship is and will always be one of the strongest and most beautiful relashionships EVER portrayed in history. (No, I don't wanna talk about them in the last ep now because I would burst out crying again and we don't want that because then I'll never get to finish writing this description.)
The show made me cry tears of laughter but also a lot of tears of pain. If I've known form the beginning what we'll have to face in the end, maybe I wouldn't have sold my sould to the show.. okay.. that's not true. Because I still would have.
"It's better to feel pain, than nothing at all..." to quote the Lumineers.
I am so thankful for everything this show gave me. Not only hours of joy while watching but also for letting me be part of a wonderful fandom.
This goes to you Merlin fandom: Thank you so much! I cannot remember ever feeling so at home in a fandom and to feel so like an actual part of it. Can we please always stick together? We'll keep the show and everything around it alive.
I never have to feel alone with this show.
A lot of the other shows I love(d) and watch(ed) I always had to go through them alone. Sometimes I've never really felt like part of the fandom and/or I had nobody to talk about it. But not with Merlin.
I've found great friends here, wonderful people to talk to and people I really care about. Thank you, so much.
I can remember the day when I showed Merlin to my little brother and the day when I introduced it to my little sister..
And since these days we've always watched it together when it was on TV, we cried together discussed together, fangirled together. This is like one of the most beautiful things imo, sharing the love, never being in this alone.
And I also have to admit that without the show I might have quit vidding about half a year ago. At this time it seemed like I wasn't able to put anything together anymore and it didn't look as anybody cared about my videos.. but then I got most of the eps from my friend Tessa and well, yeah my inspiration came back. And it seemed as some people actually enjoyed my work. Thank you so much for that. Thank you so much for your support, comments and everything guys.
I am an emotional mess right now. There is so much I want to say and I don't know how to put it into words...
And to this video..
I've been working on this video for some time now and I've cried a lot while doing it. Camelot has been like a home for me and it will always be for us all.
Can you remember Merlin coming to Camelot in the Dragon's Call? Ye, he came and build a home for himself, for his friends, for us and for so much other people and characters we got to know through 5 wonderful seasons.
But there has always to come a time to say goodbye, hasn't it?
And I guess the time is now...
I really tried to put everything that makes the show what it is in this video; to remember why we loved it so much and why we will always do.

I am thinking about vidding 5x13 but until now I just didn't find the courage to do so.

I know this sounds cheesy but this show got me through my hard times, and still gets me through them. No matter what happens I know that I can count on it and the characters to make me feel better. I started watching Merlin this year so it was kinda late and I don't know why I didn't watch it before (well in France it's not well-known at all) but I cried even more while reading you description. I just recently finished Merlin for the first time at the recommendation of a friend and I??? My heart???? I can't explain this feeling in my chest?? I just watched the finale for the first time last night, and now I'm looking for fan videos to fill the void. I'm not always crazy about fan videos for songs I love because I think of how I'd do it differently but this one... WOW! This is perfect! This is easily the best Merlin fan video I've found yet.

The biggest difference between the series and a movie is that a movie is short. With a series a person gets attached to the characters and thus, it is very sad when the series ends especially when the hero dies. I bawled like a baby when Robin Hood died. I bawled like a baby when Arthur died. I wish the actors all the luck in the world. They have brought me joy for five yrs. A big thank you to the cast and crew of Merlin.

The only reason someone hit the dislike button is because the show is over. This has been one of the best tribute videos I've seen. Gosh this is so powerful- even though the series is over, Merlin will continue to live on. If you have Netflix you can watch all of the whole series there. I've been in the merlin fandom for years. I still remember clearly my reaction after the last ep. My Christamas was ruined: I spent an evening crying in the bathroom, at night I couldn't sleep because I kept dreaming about the show etc...It was such a difficult goodbye! Most of the characters met a tragic ending. Not just Merlin and Arthur. I was disappointed by a lot of stuff. You are right. I still cry and i'm sure i never stop crying. During so many years Merlin and Arthur are been everything for me, everything! I laughed and I cried like you, I literally lived their life for years and now I lost everything and I feel lost. I havent't nothing left because they were everything. You are right: this is a story of love, strenght, fight, hoping to build a home, to build a future. They fought for that until the end, until the death. I don't know how they can think this is a story of a boy who talks with a dragon! This is a story on all that there isn't anymore in this world: the true frienship like the friendship between Merlin and Arthur, the love, the hoping, the ideals. Everything lost with the last breath of Arthur when he died for what he believed, with their last words. I never stop crying because with Arthur's death I forgot the happiness because, you are right, also the pain is better than the void and now, without them, only the void remains.
