Steps to Convert a Galvanometer into an Ammeter 1. Determine Galvanometer Parameters - Find full-scale deflection current () and internal resistance (). 2. Calculate Shunt Resistance - Use the formula , where is the desired current range. 3. Connect Shunt in Parallel - Attach the calculated shunt resistance across the galvanometer. 4. Calibration & Verification - Compare readings with a standard ammeter to ensure accuracy. 5. Precautions - Secure connections, prevent overloading, and use precise resistances.

Mam in the observation table while writing the error u have written it as I2-I1 but u have calculated evey observation as I1-I2..So is it necessary to keep the error positive or something like that?? Anyways thank u so much mam for this wonderful explanation 🙏❤️!!

Mam, what if the desired range of ammeter is given in milli ampere? Then we have to use shunt resistance or not?

You have to calculate length using the relation between resistance and resistivity. S= shunt resistance S=Ig(G)/I-Ig S= rho x length/Area Area of wire= πr² S= rho x length/πr² Therefore, length= S x πr²/rho
