To God Be the Glory (Tune: To God Be the Glory - 4vv) [with lyrics for congregations]

"To God Be the Glory" was written in 1872 and published in 1875 by the prolific Frances Jane van Alstyne (née Crosby) commonly knwn as Fanny Crosby (she wrote more than 8000 hymns and songs under 46 different pseudonymns).
The tune is 'To God Be the Glory' by William Howard Doane.
It is performed here by Stuart Townend.

This has to be one of my favourite hymns, and such an uplifting version. To God Be the Glory is a very meaningful song to me as the chorus I was singing one night while I was with my sick husband, and he joined singing with me. When I first met the man I was to marry he said that I would never hear him sing. So you could imagine my surprise when he sang along with me, (Tim said that only two people have heard him sing God and me!) and not only the once but many times over the past weeks until he died. I now have the comfort that my lovely husband is alive, and with Jesus in Heaven. This song we sang at my husbands funeral last Tuesday. I will continue to Praise the LORD, and to GOD be the Glory. AMEN!
