[Synopsis]
The granddaughter of the esteemed Yonglin leader, Helan Mingyu (Zhao Han Ying Zi) grew up well in the country of Sheng. Honest and bright, she caught the eye of many young men, but it was the Ninth Prince, Xiao Cheng Xu (Cheng Yi), who eventually won her heart. Happy as they were, their love was fated for ruin. Determined to help his older brother, Xiao Cheng Rui (Han Dong) ascend the throne, Cheng Xu sets out for war, well aware that his victory on the battlefield would help solidify his brother’s position as king. What I get for not seeing well now so that I only watch clips at this point(though even at that, I still struggle) but now I understand why he apologize to her when she was sick it's then he truly understood what his uncle and her sacrificed but while he did, sadly in the end just still wasn't strong enough to keep on(after ruo xuan died) because understanding it better he may have just been a better ruler than before

This series is so pretty but kind of disappointing. The dresses, the set up, the graphics everything looks so pleasant but the story and the acting really killed it for me. Especially towards the end every male character that had any problem would DEFINITELY have one scene where they sit down on the floor looking all shabby and drunk 😂 like come on there are other ways to portray grief or sadness not just sitting on the floor every goddamn time. They should’ve cast a different actress for Mingyu’s role… this actress just doesnt cut it. Yes she’s gorgeous but thats about it. Her expressions and everthing is pretty much same throughout the drama. The story too, they made Mingyu’s character so weak she literally does nothing except cry?? Come on you are an EMPRESS DOWAGER use your power goddamit! Maybe because I watched empresses in the palace etc that I’m craving that character development here its just the opposite so sad
