How about shifting to the OUTSIDE of the attacking arm? If you don't shift at all, you leave yourself open for the hook.

the biu should arrive before the hook. shorter and deadlier line.

But what if you don't throw the biu sau? You will get hit with the hook and that will be the end of the fight! This is why you MUST FACE THE ATTACK BY ROTATING TOWARDS IT, TAKING AN ANGLED STEP IN to close the distance!

@@mightymeatmonsta that is always why did, i am a big guy but i do not want to walk into a hook

@@uli9084 Did you rotate and take an angled step, or did you just rotate? Just rotating, without the angled step, only covers one side at a time, and leaves one side open for attack. That's why modified Wing Chun doesn't work well against boxers, and the hook. Lack of proper footwork is like a cannon that cannot move to the attack, grasshopper. That's one of the many reasons why traditional Wing Chun works so well!!

@@mightymeatmonsta hi, with step, I always one to get in at the weakest angle for the opponent, in a lot of wsl it is without step.
