I graduated from High School in Costa Rica, and knew 2 of José and Karen's children. Their daughter is the image of their mother except for hair color. José Figueres himself gave me my diploma. That was the proudest moment of my life.

He knew how to spell his surname. And the knees on his overalls showed that the pants were "broken in" (not starched for the show).

What happened to all that land? It's it still in the family or has it been subdivided and sold?
@KlepticHeist3 жыл бұрын
@@sheilamarie3788 Last I heard it was divided amongst different parts of the family, some rented out to agriculture and some of it has a brewery. There still is the main farmland plot. I haven't been for a few years though so things may have changed recently.

@@Bigbadwhitecracker Not the original, no, just the reboot of Tell the Truth from the 80s. The ITV networks were even worse at preserving programmes than the BBC was, and ATV(which was the network it was on) effectively died after 1981.

Is polly giving us and the panel "the finger" at 6:58 ? Oh I love these old game shows. I wasnt even born yet when this episode (and many others I see here) aired, but used to watch this show to a degree in the late 60s
@John-ih2bx Жыл бұрын
I guess I shouldn't be too critical of the panelists since this, apparently, was TTtT's first year. Such inane questions ... "How many people vote in Costa Rica?" ??? How many people vote in the UK, in the US, in Canada ... pick your home country/state/county/town ... answer the question ... and the one asking probably had no clue of the correct answer. Where was Brunolito's bakery? When walking from the bakery to the dry cleaners, did you take a left or a right on 57th? What's your favorite color?

lgoldman I usually wait until I've watched the episode before I read the comments. I know that some people do this the other way around, but it's hard to avoid "spoilers" when you do that. The Comments section is a natural place to discuss reactions to the episode.

+Zachary Dunlap-Tunnage: The Lucy-Desi Comedy hour was basically I Love Lucy shown once a month for an hour as opposed to half hour, with major guest stars of the era, like Tallulah for the last 3 yrs. of the run (1957-60) They still lived in the Connecticut home, and little Ricky and the Mertzes were still on hand.

4:02 "If you were on this panel, who would you vote for?" What kind of question is that?? It doesn't elicit any helpful information, it's not particularly funny, and it doesn't even make sense... Polly Bergen sure wastes a lot of time with her incoherent questioning; I'm *so* glad they replaced her in later episodes.
