Tom Poston strikes me as very well-traveled and intelligent. He mostly played hassled types on TV comedies.

He joined the United States Army Air Forces in 1941. Accepted to officer candidate school and then graduating from flight training, Poston served as a pilot in the European Theater in World War II; his aircraft dropped paratroopers for the Normandy invasion.[On one episode he Tom explains how he was in England when a v-1 rocket cut its engine guided in and exploded he was there.

In the first segment, Don Ameche asked what difference would the odds be in Roulette, in Double Zero vs. Single Zero. Contestant #1, who was the gambling expert answered, "Well, it would be one extra number." That's not an accurate answer. Don is asking about ODDS. The odds of winning on any one number are reduced in a single zero game from 1/38 to 1/37. All other bets and payouts are reduced accordingly. The ODDS are better for the player in Single Zero by a few percentage points. Don then asked what the chances were of the shooter winning in craps. Contestant #1 said the shooter doesn't have any chance of winning. What??? Of course he has a chance. What kind of answers are those? Contestant #1, is supposed to tell the truth and those answers are just wrong.

Man #1 in Game #1 Lady #2 in Game #2 Man #3 in Game #3

Round 3 was easy to figure out; the first guy double talked his way through each question (repeating the question, playing for time); the second guy didn't know the star of movie which was based on this novel (which would be odd). Usually the imposters are prepped better. I also guessed 3 for 3 correctly on this episode.
@Walterwhiterocks4 жыл бұрын
True. The imposters in game three were terribly ill prepared.

The first segment was a joke. The question "What are the odds in ...?" is just too ambiguous. They should have asked "What is the expected return of a pass bet in craps"? That question has an answer - about -1.4% The next question should be "What is the expected return of a don't pass bet in craps"? The answer is not "the same", but "just a tad better".

I agree, he often seemed rather arrogant and aggressive in his interrogations, but I think that was a persona he put on for his acting carreer. He wasn't the largest man, but got cast in many intimidating/devious-type roles. Contrast this to the episode where he showed his happier, softer side because his daughters were present! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3KveYdjmr6JaLc

@@lethaluks2942 I agree with you. I think he does whatever he can to inquire. Notice he rarely chit-chats during the game, and when a contestant doesn't answer quickly enough, he often moves along. I rather like his form of questioning.

I started watching this show about 5 or 6 months ago. It's my second favorite game show after "What's My Line?" But I had to give this one a thumbs down. I can't believe they encourage Gambling on this game show . . . and THEN they had the Burlesque dancer!

Calm down, everyone! I got this. Karen-I mean, Krista was just expressing her disappointment that a channel would dare to post a piece of history because it offends her conservative values. I'm sure that "thumbs down" she gave will make a huge difference. Just wait until she gets to the episodes where they feature a topless dancer, challengers of mixed gender! wearing leotards!! and children in makeup! Get ready for more thumbs down!!
