Percy Dinshaw was a family friend of my grandparents, and he sent us a huge tin of darjeeling tea every year for Christmas. Really nice guy.

Jayne Rosa, agreed! Poly's got little side-wings! And I notice lots of compliments for her from male posters :) She has a sweet doll-face and lively personality, and she can really sing! But I wish she wouldn't so often play the spacey dimwit! But maybe the producers wanted that from her, to be contrast to the other panelists. Showbiz!

20:33 "As soon as you can find it" - this shows how witty and spontaneous Polly can be. Brilliant! Love her! How many people were still laughing over this great comment and can remember none of Dons following questions?

That was good, but a little Polly goes a long way with me. She tries much too hard to be funny, too often. But I'd never kick her out of bed. 😍

Tom knows a lot about parachute jumps. He was a pilot in WW2 who flew paratroopers over Normandy. Bud is always a professional who brings the show home on time.

The announcer said "The preceding program was pre-recorded". So it was around 1960 that they started taping shows in advance; they never went back to live after that.

Kitty is so pretty in this episode. I’m always so curious what colour's the ladies dresses are.

If you could go back in time to this period who would you like to meet: Jayne Mansfield? Marilyn Monroe? Polly Bergen? Grace Kelly? Other? For me it would be the most charming, beautiful, wittiest of them all - Polly Bergen! KAN 2.20 UK

Don Ameche is so knowledgeable on EVERYTHING. Just listen to those questions in round 1. Wonder what his IQ was!

So if Kitty knew the first one so well, why didn't she disqualify herself at the start instead of asking questions?
@donnawoodford66413 жыл бұрын
Because she's being haughty.

Christopher Jones - how attitudes change - then it was just exciting 'fun' to go on a safari or tease and kill a bull for entertainment in a bull ring, which I think they still do. I want to bring back Buffalo Bill Cody and show him the endangered state of Buffalo's and hear him say sorry.

Sorry. I meant to ask, more specifically, what *night* they had been on up to this point.
@VahanNisanian7 жыл бұрын
They had been on Tuesday nights from 1956-1958 (1956-1958 at 9:00 p.m. and 1958-1959 at 8:30 p.m.), and Thursday nights (1959-1960; 7:30 p.m.). Hope that answers your question.
