I agree with cardinal because science and religion should go hand in hand. We should not condemn if it is birth oriented rather be compassionate. Even Bible says "do not judge so that you will not be judged." Interpret Bible by living in the present context.

After listening to this talk, which i know is not a current discussion, i get the feeling that the Cardinal when he speaks of the church embracing homosexuals means if you are a homosexual man/woman, or to use the more common term 'gay', the church cannot or will not turn you away. Which is very correct. What Karan T and others in their comments are implying by 'homosexuals', is a couple, male or female of the same sex living together. This I am sure neither the Pope nor the Cardinal are condoning! Nor are they condoning the sin! Definitely not! Even a normal or 'straight' man can live with a woman without being married, or could be hvg sexual relations with several women. Will the church turn him away? It will not! Will the church condone his sin? Most definitely not! So ppl criticizing his answer are, i feel, putting a very wrong perception on this entire discussion! Of course seeking God's pardon for their sin is entirely up to the individual!

I don’t think God gives this tendency, this is created with mind and as Cardinal said so people come and create wrong feelings with young man, they don’t know all this, thats how this tendency is created, You know what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah the punishment sent by God, and if this continuous, then the world will be like Sodom and Gomorra , this is my way of thinking according to Gods Faith.
