While practicing with Blum Animal Hospital, Dr. Marks became a co-owner of the practice, led the practice to be the first Fear Free Certified Practice in Illinois, and then became a certified veterinary journalist in 2018. She has appeared on Good Day Chicago, WGN-Pet Central, NBC Morning News, ABC, CBS, NPR, WBBM, the Northwestern University media channel, and many local websites. Dr. Marks has received numerous awards, but she most recently received the Nobivac Veterinarian of the Year award for her work on canine influenza. She has also achieved the status of an Elite Fear Free Certified Professional.
