Apart from the photo, what else do they look for, is it so much of concern when it comes to the names as they appear on my birth certificate, in my birth certificate there is an extra name which I was given at the time of birth but later was baptised and offered a different name.. again one is above 40 yet not married, can it exclude you from being selected?

I think with J1, there is a specific period of time you must have stayed in US fir you to apply; not sure, you can research. However, with J1, it's said that you must not show any interest in becoming an immigrant ie through DV coz you are supposed to go back to fulfil your 2-requirement. With H1B, I am not sure. But after 6 yrs, you can seek green card status.
