A good 90% of active public room users on there forgot VRChat was supposed to represent expressing imagination you otherwise wouldn't easily be able to IRL, and whereas they use it for escapism. The problem lies in that VRChat is more of an introvertive experience, a hangout rather than mainly a game; its why some use it as an alternate to discord. Among other reasons, the game does have a lot of toxic people who victimize themselves more often than not
