Correction. My husband is a licensed psychologist/social worker and said although he can't diagnose her, Shanny seems to have traits one would see in a Covert or Vunerable Narcissist and Overt. Such as, entitlement, need for admiration, attention seeking, often takes advantage of people playing on their empathy, adverse to criticism, self absorbed but will act shy in social situations although Shanny specifically is grandiose in her thoughts and actions, will often avoid social settings where there is a competition where they won't perform as well as others, very envious of others and inflated sense of self, inability to take responsibility for their actions, has to be the best at everything, often blames others for things the Narcissist is responsible for, and prone to negative emotions. They are hard to treat successfully because they often think they aren't the problem, rather everyone else is. CBT is usually the method most therapists use to treat those suffering from BPD. He said that unless Shanny sees this for herself snd seeks help, she will never take this diagnosis from a therapist because they will then become the problem. "My therapist sucks. They think I have VNPD and I don't. I have BPD." She will lie on her intake form, further exacerbating her mental health issues as she is not getting treatment for the right disorder. Whew. My turn. She pees on that couch. She has admitted to it. So gross.

Sadly I was married to a Covert Narcissist for nearly 20 years until he basically kicked me out when I got ill and I was diagnosed with a few lifelong illnesses, and then I was no longer the one doing everything and lost my purpose to him. Your husbands description summed him up so well., but unlike her he is the "shy" version. Looking back all the signs we're there but because I felt he was the love of my life I just never wanted to believe it. Same as his family being like it to. I am no forever grateful for seeing the truth but also I am heart broken for my kids but we will get there in the end. Knowing I was never going to get the empathy, (Being and empath), attention or "His" precious time I craved was a hard thing to realise but at least I now may get that oppurtunity in the future.

@Sama2. I am so sorry this happened to you. Narcissists have the ability to make everyone around them feel like they are worthless and everything is their fault. I'm so glad you got away, and with distance, you're able to see that you were a victim turned survivor of a very selfish person. You are deserving of love and respect by your partner. Our significant others should be there to lift us up, not tear us down.

it's hilarious to me that your hubby dictated that long professional opinion (not diagnostic) on this mess and then your footnote was "she pees on that couch, so gross" and like. both of your points was equally IMPACTFUL if that's a word. like why don't we invite shanny to dinner? bc (long version she's ill and dangerous) or short version, she's not toilet trained! either thing keeps you off the invitation list!😂😂😂❤❤❤

I really want someone to point out to her that, while she may not committed fraud by fundraising off a fake cancer diagnosis, using someone else’s social security number to be monetized on KZbin certainly counts as fraud. Especially bad if she is using one of the kid’s numbers, or her dead parents’ identities
