The B580 driver overhead issue is already well documented Sadly, if you need purchase a stronger CPU to get maximum performance, the lower price is not so attractive.

Go with an I5 13th gen or I5 14th Gen if you can find it available on a deal to pair with the B580, you don't need an I7 or I9 for gaming.

With the RX7600 I found no studders and much better performance with rebar/sam disabled on Black ops 6.

You people in the US have it so easy. That motherboard alone is a $300 hit in Canadian Peso's. You can't get the B580 anywhere for less than $389. Heck even buying that chip on Aliexpress is $120 after import duties for me.

There is a difference from what I've seen but to a new user, I don't think its the end of the world. I'd originally built a PC for a friend for Christmas using a b580 and my old 3700x (admittedly, i'd also wanted to use her as a guinea pig to see how the two would work together). Other than her relying on me for troubleshooting, It worked as intended. She doesn't really play heavy games so I knew it'd be fine. The only game that had a genuine problem was Detroit Become Human which is one of those games that don't work well with Arc. Hitman and GTA "didn't work well" for her because vsync was on half in GTA and on in Hitman. After solving those, it ran fine but just to keep it easy for her, I swapped it for a 4060 which more or less performed the same at 1080p. High frame rate wasn't needed as she's on a 75hz monitor.

@Ultimatebubs I didn't even hook up the rgb controller in my last build lol. I also made a concerted effort to get parts that are solid black without any branding or writing. It looks pretty cool, reminds me of black stealth aircraft.

B&h is a good place to start. Also try Newegg make sure you have the item restock notifications on. Be quick though, they obviously sell fast! Newegg is where I got the ASRock Steel Legend Model at MSRP. For the games we play it's been flawless. And even the newer ones I tested just to see, it works really well so far. I'm on AM5 with a Ryzen 5 7600x and haven't noticed any odd behavior. It's paired to a new build for my wife with this budget minded GPU. But with a priority of future upgradability in mind - (Went completely bonkers on a 1000w Titanium Seasonic PSU with a 10yr warranty. Aaand I'm hoping it lasts for 20 lol)🙏😅

Will be ironed out in the near future. The b580 is still 100% worth it and I believe the b570 will be as well. Can hold a rookie to as high of a standard as the Heisman Trophy winner.

B580 don't work well with weak CPU. You need a powerful CPU to run B580

Whaaaat!? This is almost my PC! -R5 3600, -Thermal Right cooler (but Burst Assassin) -ASRock mobo (but X570e). The rest is different, Corsair PSU, 32gb 3600 RAM, Rocket 4.0 m.2, Thermal Take case, etc. But still cool to see how well the Arc B580 would actually work with my setup.

Well, to be honest I am not surprised and such issues are to be expected for a newcomer in this market like Intel. Let's not forget that the current generation of both nVidia and AMD are a result of literally decades of technical evolution, ironing problems and fixing compatibility issues which naturally leads to a lot of good built-up legacy of backwards driver compatibility with such older CPUs - something Intel obviously does not have for a number of very good reasons and expecting a great backwards compatibility for long obsolete CPUs is unreasonable. Intel is a contemporary competitive card for current contemporary competitive systems, it is what it is.

it's going to be long time before intel is a tried and true gpu brand,there is no big return for innovating ,just do things better at cost effective efficiency better bus vram ,clock speeds etc the criteria is already present just do it better for the consumers needs .

Okay... but this GPU is still worth buying with an older CPU. They're focused on real performance, and push the limits of tech. AT AFFORDABLE COST. Even if there is issues with drivers (oh no... 10 frames). If you don't support this GPU, you'll just enable the dog pile that is the new age NVIDIA "graphics" cards. it's AMD + Intel to the moon!

It bottlenecks a little with the 3600 which is better, but as long as you have resizable bar enabled on the system it will work fine

Great build though I want to say its funny how you cant even buy a b580 for 250 dollars it doesnt make sense why youd buy such a card for 400 dollars when you buy a different card from amazon for that much WITH MORE PERFORMANCE. Like why does scalping this card make any sense ??? Sure for a top tier gpu when you cant buy anything else but this is a specific entry level card.

Do you ever try running VR games with a budget PC by using Intel arc B580 because one of the KZbinrs never tried Intel arc B580 for VR games it has enough VRAM for VR games like 12 GB should be enough even if it’s a budget bill it’s a good enough profit for VR games but I feel like they’re not gonna run it because maybe there’s some KZbinrs will run it but they need to wait until it was fully released because they didn’t release those car yet they only do pre-ordered not a pre-released they only do pre-ordered which is mean they make a release it the whole market until people were gonna buy it until they can review it but the price might change. Yes it’s 250 but they may increase it to $270 or $280 depends on what brand because some brand will make it look nicer and make the cost to go high

I wish they have Micro Center closer to Portland Oregon because I live in Portland Oregon and they don’t have Micro Center nearby states because a lot of states don’t have Micro Center to be closer to Oregon it’s too far away only California has it but it’s too far away and plus the gas price is too expensive and it’s too expensive just to travel over there just to see it not really it’s just a gas price. I’m not gonna travel that far just to pay more gallon just to go to a place I wish Micro Center can be in Washington or somewhere not that farand be more cheaper

Why not pair this with an older budget Ali express x99 and Xeon? Maybe it can handle the extra overhead? Maybe not? It's not like am4 platform really has much of an "upgrade path" anymore anyways...

What? A xeon e5 2680 v4 can at best "match" a ryzen 5 5500, while you can still jump all the way to a ryzen 5 5800x3d/5700x3d if you want further upgrades

If all you do is play fortnight,cod,marvel rivals and maybe gta 6 when it launches just get a $250 xbox series s and game pass its the best budget deal in gaming if you want to spend $200 more you can get the series x all digital edition for $450. i wouldnt waste $450 on a crappy pc to play fornight or cod id buy a xbox series x all digital edition for $450

I mean if you want to get locked into paying for online and paying Xbox games pass subscription then sure. But pc just has more freedom and the bang for buck very much comes from the experience, steam is great, epic games you able to pick up free games sometimes even triple A, you have access to modding basically any game if you willing to put in the work, Also indie games you have access to
