It’s really great to see you reacting to these newer groups but as an older gen fan I really hope to see you do some throwbacks (as in really old throwbacks to even the late 90s or the 2000s) haha! Anyways, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you react to vocal compilations so I thought I’d recommend this vid to you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoHZkp6Jidhrgtk It’s a compilation of DBSK acapella vocals so no tuning etc completely live! They’re a legendary Kpop group even though 3 of their members left years ago. They’re really well known for almost/basically all of their performance vocals being fully live during a period where auto-tune and lip syncing was common in Kpop live performances. I’d say that they were the literal Kings Of Kpop in their time and broke so many records even holding a record for having the largest Fan Club in the world (mind this only counted their official fan club members and only those in Korea and were allowed to join and they still had to pay to do so. You can probably imagine that their actual fan base was even larger than that record breaking number, especially since they were part of the first wave of Hallyu groups that first brought Kpop into the international market and thus had a pretty large international fanbase as well)

This song definitely grew on me. Another reactor mentioned that this music video is very unlike SM’s typical style and I totally agree. This very over the top girl crush vibe is very Blackpink so I think SM is trying to get on the stage to compete with the trend today. You can tell they spent BANK on this debut and it worked because it looked great. SM is known for having some of the best soloist in the kpop industry and I’m not sure if it’s the same today, but I knew for the boy groups they used to make them run and sing to build up their breathing to prepare them for on the stage. I suggest reacting to Taemin’s “Criminal” or “Idea.” He was told he couldn’t sing and wasn’t even included vocally on his group’s debut song. However, he trained super hard and is now an amazing singer. Thank you for all the reactions and the quick breathing lesson 🙏🏻 Happy Thanksgiving Justin!
