I bought the exact same unit but sold under the Spiritech brand. I run it using ultra dry air on the inlet, fed from a small tank at 120 PSI and dried over molecular sieves. A small regulator drops pressure to 2 PSI, any more and it strains. This keeps water out of the compressor. Water and heat are the reason for pump failure.

Can a compressor like this fill a scuba tank or a carbon fiber 4500 tank? My goal is to use this or one like it to fill my scuba tank or a carbon fiber bottle to then take to the range or in my backpack so I don't have to lug this around the range or wherever.... great video. These shoebox compressors are not suitable for filling scubas. If you want to fill scubas with a small compressor, there is one that actually is advertised to do that, and it can run for 5 hours! Here is the link: amzn.to/3Q8uYFb

Also check out my video on the Orcair Thunder. That one can fill slightly larger tanks. I even filled a 6.8L tank with it, but you have to do it in increments or 30 mins, with equal cooling time, and the tank has to have a 1 way valve. There are links in the comments for the compressor and the much needed oil/water separator.

Unplug it after the fan has sufficiently cooled the unit after usage

Tell those who wonder why you review compressors... If you own a PCP, a hand pump ain't gonna cut it unless its an emergency. Nice review, I bought the GX CS2 to fill off the car battery, just wish it had the auto cut-off feature.

You're spot on! Hand pumps are for tiny reservoir guns and emergencies! That said, I used one for like 15 years on a 490cc Talon SS.... never again!

You think it could fill a scuba/ SCBA tank? 6.8L?

If it had a paintball style fill nipple (one way valve inside) on it you could possibly do it, but it would take FOREVER and it would put a beating on the compressor. I tried topping my 6.8L bottle with it as a test and it was barely making a dent in filling it after 20 minutes (the recommended max run time), I'm talking only like an increase of 200psi. That is a lot of volume to try and fill with a tiny compressor! You could do it but it would take mad cycles.

Yeah its just a bit more robust but it's not like a big power compressor. These shoeboxes all use 12v motors, man.

@@airshootist I figured but the place I bought my tank from does free refills. So no big deal. Could have saved some money with a little air compressor for sure though if I was just looking to fill the gun but the 20 sec top off does have its merits.

Next time you grab one make sure to snag the 4 year warranty on Amazon. It is usually like 30-45 bucks and it will 100% come into play in 4 years if you are a heavy user like me. These small compressors aren't really designed to live forever, so by grabbing the warranty you've got some insurance!

@@airshootist the problem is that it's still under the 1 year manufacturer's warranty and they told me basically that I'm SOL because they're not going to do anything about ! 🤬🤬

Well that's not very cool of them. Consider a different vendor next time. ToAuto has been great. Full disclosure: I did have a power supply failure on the A3 last year and they immediately sent another one out. Been running strong ever since. But that 4 year warranty will protect you after the manufacturer's 1 year warranty runs out

Next time grab the warranty off amazon. You're good for 4 years and if you use it a lot it WILL fail in that time period. No brainer for next time!

the temp matched the ambient because the temp probe doesn't measure the machine...it just sit inside the housing. SHILL.

Do you really think I sat there and filmed the whole cool down for you to sit thru? Lol what a silly comment. The temp probe is drilled directly into the compression head and you can literally see how fast it's cooling down in this video. Temp probe and fan both work perfectly. Lmao. Get outta here with this garbage take. 🗑🗑🗑
