Dear Frankie, Great to see you enjoying Englishman's Bay! It is our favourite when we are on island. We have a house in Castara but go up the coast for a day out and to have lunch at Miss Eulas. The great thing about the bay is that there is NO DEVELOPMENT !!! Long may it stay so .................enjoy it while you can.

Well Frank, my wife and I got married on the beach at Englishmans bay 5 years ago, the memories of the paradise will remain all my life.

Tobago was beautiful..the scenery..and I travelled with Trinidadians and stayed with them the two weeks I was there. One week in Trinidad and one in Tobago. The people were very friendly and I had a ball. But I would have reservations of going as a tourist on the package holiday thing. The resorts such as pigeon point are fine and there is good deals on trips..but it is not a place for people who like everything just so. Also places like Castara are very remote...VERY.

Really a dreambay. Reminds me of my favorite song "Dreambay-Serenade" performed by OK-Dreamband on CD "Clarinet-Dreams" (eMusic, iTunes).

Lucky youto have a home in Castara! If all settles down in TandT its my notion to have a property there too. I hope to return in the new year and will take my camera and post vids on my return. Hope this message discovers you on fine form.

Con't: And for the record I wouldn't blame the locals for feeling that way. If foreign homeowners don't have the respect of the locals then they shouldn't mover there. And I mean the foreign locals who buy properties as a rental investment. And as far as pigeon point being the "usual suspect" as far as beaches go, it is very beautiful and much more relaxing I would say. And I was DYING to see Castara but on being there I would rent somewhere else.

Went to Castara bay on a visit whilst staying in Buccoo reef. There seemed to be something undecidedly unfriendly about the place.We arrived late in the afternoon and looked for something to eat.Everything was practically closed and we met a couple who stayed there three days and were not happy campers. I would hazard a guess that the locals see the foreign house owners as invaders in some respects. Anyway..not the glamorous place I had seen and read about on the net. Buccoo reef was much nicer.

englishmans bay is the best beach in tobago, second only to las cuevas in trinidad.
