What about deaf people who want to buy a rental in Toronto, Canada?
@oluwatosinjohnsonneeolojed50483 жыл бұрын
Hi Tobi. Does 1 year lease mean the contract is for a year and you pay month to month, but you cannot move out and stop paying before 1 year elapses.
@TobiDerin3 жыл бұрын
Yes! So if you get 1 year lease you need to be in that place for one year. You will pay your rent month to month. It’s a bit difficult to break the lease when you want to move out before the year ends. It really depends on the landlord as some will allow you break the lease if you can find someone else to take over your space till the year ends. Some landlords will want to make sure the person taking over is their ideal tenant. One year is what is common tho but you can find month to month.

Hi, is a 1 + 1 + den apartment a good choice for a new immigrant studying for a PGD ? Even in a long run
@TobiDerin3 жыл бұрын
Hi, so that’s a 2 bedroom and den yeah? That’s okay, will you be staying alone or renting with with roommates? People stay in apartments for years so it will be okay.
@Amazeballs3 жыл бұрын
@@TobiDerin I will be staying alone. A one bedroom + den apartment actually I just wanted to know if it would fit my budget and monthly expenses in a long run
@TobiDerin3 жыл бұрын
@@Amazeballs oh, I see. It really depends on the city and what your budget is like. But staying alone is usually more expensive than sharing a 2 bedroom but if you have the budget for it then it will be more convenient. You can also get a 1 bedroom without a den, that will be cheaper than with a den. The rule of thumb is nothing more than 30% of your salary or allowance for rent. You can follow that rule if you want to. Let me know if you have more questions.
