He definitely died during battle like most Shinobi. Also, I'm pretty sure it was Kagami's undying loyalty and servitude to the Leaf that allowed Tobirama to understand Uchihas more. Tobirama knows that Uchihas feel immense hate but also immense love. Kagami was proof of immense love. Imagine if he was around during the Uchiha massacre. He would have been greatly disgusted with Danzo's sharingan arm. Perhaps he may have even helped Shisui and Itachi quell the Uchiha uprising. I wonder what his mangekyo abilities would be. It could be similar to Shisui's ultimate genjutsu, since both Itachi and Sasuke possess Amaterasu, so I'm guessing mangekyo abilities are similar to close related Uchiha.

Obito had the eye with short ranged teleportation and Kakashi had the eye with long range teleportation. Itachi had Amaterasu in one eye and Limited Tsukuyomi in the other. Sasuke had Amaterasu in one eye and flame control in the other. Itachi did not have flame control. Flame control allowed Sasuke to manipulate the shape of his black flames and spread the flames with more precision, such as when he coated his Susanoo with his black flames (this happened during the war arc and when Sasuke fought Ay by covering his Susanoo with black flames that Ay punched through which got his arm burned).

I remember that during the 4 Edo Tensei revival of the Hokage that Tobirama had said that Kagami was one of his most trusted subordinates. Meaning to me that he trusted Kagami enough that he probably taught him certain techniques that would actually work well with his Sharingan, and that Tobirama was not afraid to look Kagami in the eyes. While he might have only done that because he was so young, it would not explain why he would want to keep him near afterwards if he didn't have any fondness for him. Same for Kagami, even with Tobirama's own research into the Sharingan without actually seeing how it works and the nature of how the abilities activate he would not have gotten as far as he had without someone from the clan with the dojutsu to either confirm, deny, or even learn something else that they didn't know. Kagami obviously trusted Tobirama quite a lot to tell him ANYTHING about his clans most guarded secrets to believe that he would not use them against the clan. And he never did. If anything he used it to learn more. And if Kagami was truly as powerful as he was thought to be, then it's speculating to say that he had a similar power to Shisui. I honestly believe that's why he was killed. If Danzo wanted to use Koto Amatsukami to gain control "for the good of the village" then it stands to reason that Kagami was probably one of the very first Sharingan he stole to practice his experiments. Think about it; if Kagami was truly that powerful then how could he have died so young? If not from an even greater enemy that was well known at the time, then because of a literal knife in the back by a supposed trusted comrade. If he was truly as loyal as Tobirama said then he wouldn't think twice about meeting a comrade to help protect the village. Only to be blindsided and betrayed before he could even think. It also doesn't surprise me that everyone else believes Kagami dies in battle than on his home soil. Because even then Kagami seems like the type to be considered a black sheep. He was too friendly outside the clan for them to be happy with, and honestly the discord within the Uchiha was already growing, inside and out. It also seems like something Danzo would hide from everyone. He hid so much more than his former teammates actually knew. It wouldn't surprise me if he killed a comrade in cold blood to try to get ahead. Its also why I think Tobirama was more aware of Danzo's true nature than even Danzo was aware of. He tried to get Danzo to understand that throwing your life away doesn't always mean you die honorably. Kawarama, his younger brother was killed in a battle between the Uchiha and the Hagoromo. It probably still acts as a great example for all that just because you can die in battle doesn't mean you should!!! Kawa was 7!! And his own father either couldn't or wouldn't look past that fact!!! He died as a shinobi surrounded by the enemy and away from home. Good job, Butsuma!!😡👍 Still, maybe had he actually gotten through to him much of the bullshit that happened wouldn't have. Anyway, those are my thoughts on the matter. What do you think?

Izuna was never strong as or stronger than Madara. Hashirama and Madara were in a league of their own. Izuna was always a step behind Madara because he had less experience.
