Honestly, I was legit ambivalent the first time I watched this video.. Growing up with Hank Jr... My Texas Brothers and most others back then... We'd sing like idiots along with hank, but none of us ever got any stage to try and karaoke it.. (Sam Houston State SHSU - early 90's) It wasn't a conversation I recall we ever had with each other.. We could get drunk and sing whatever, but it almost was sacrolidge to try and actually do it on one of the small stages in town, etc.. I really cannot imagine many if any other professionals who could have pulled off this song like Toby Keith..

I can't imagine singing this song in front of Hank... (I don't sing for everyone's sake). For Hank to give his blessing for Toby to do this is.... Really special.. Right in front of the person who laid down the principals by way of song of real men and life - which is getting rare.. RIP TOBY KEITH.. THANK YOU Hank!
