And then he passes from cancer less than two decades later? So sad. Rest in Peace, Toby and thank you for the great music and all you did for the kids. Baghdad summer 2004 - Tour two. I remember my 4 day pass to the Green Zone. I was an Infantryman working an AO in the western part of the city. The Army gave us a 4 day pass in addition to two weeks home during our 13 month long deployment. For our 4 day passes, some of us went to Qatar and some went to the Green Zone, which is where I went. It was basically Saddam’s Ba’ath Party urban resort. I remember swimming in Saddam’s pool, beneath the 15 meter diving board, tanning in the Iraqi sun. I closed my eyes and listened to this album and this song in particular. All while helicopters buzzed overhead, with explosions and gunfire in the near distance. Toby Keith was the soundtrack to the early days of the Global War on Terror. He inspired countless Troops on the battlefield. He visited us with the USO. It was the final era of true patriotism in America. This album has countless deep memories for me abroad and at home. I will miss Toby Keith…

TOBY helped children with cancer and their families who woyld need a place to stay and with no charge. He had other various organizations he either started or gave to. He had a clothing line, loved to fish so he started a Fishing Lure Company called.Luck E Strike...he had a Bar & Grill, he loved his vintage cars which he kept on his 160 acre Ranch in Oklahoma . He began his career as the fans heard his 1st hit song..I Should Have Been A Cowboy..1993...he has 3 children ...and he loved his family. So Here's To You TOBY....I love you as a great person and a musical genius that you always put a smile on my face...you will be so missed by so many.....see you again my friend...God Bless....

Man I feel like a lost a friend. Just as a frame of reference, I'm a Black man whose loved Toby's music for decades. I remember when I read/heard that he was on his way to being a billionaire because of his music and business ventures...never met the man but felt happy for him. Not that money makes a man but because he was the man who was able to accomplish so much. I resonated with so many of his songs, especially Song for Wayman, Should have been a Cowboy, Who's that man (used to think of that song when I picked up from my old house that was still in my name after divorce) I love this bar showed Toby to be an every man, who loved the bar because anybody of any stripe could be there. Toby, my name is John Lovell my sister told me my late brother Charlie Lovell loved going to you're restaurant in OK city... He passed away on February 25 2022. He was a retired air force from the locally base. Sir thank you for your wait and kitchen staff for making each visit there enjoyable for him. He passed way because of cancer he didn't even knew he had. When he passed it was stage 4... Thank you for your time and thank you all that may have known my brother lift a glass for him.
