I’m glad to say I played in this! Although I’m more of a jazz guy, I’m glad I got to be a part of this ensemble and had fun playing your piece!

Listen to a lot of music and sing anything you are going to play before you play it.

@@Stonebone-nu8dk also record, your sound sounds very different to you than it does to other people another thing, make small changes to your embouchure to see what it does to the sound. experimentation is an essential part of devolving tone a strong sound concept is also key. figure out exactly what your ideal sound is by listening to great players (best if you can listen to them live). you must be able to know if the changes you are making are helping or hurting your sound. finally, the best exercise to improve tone is long tones (though just doing them will not help, you have to focus on your sound) personally, i always go back to one note as a comparison, usually the closest partial in 1st (e.g. Bb F D) p.s. i like to free buzz (buzzing without the mouth piece) quite a bit as per the carmine caruso method because it helps avoid using the mouthpiece as a crutch and promotes finding a good embouchure setup

Listen to opera singers and cellos, if you can imitate those two perfectly, you definitely get an easy 10 for tone.
