Looking forward to seeing your relationship with the RT develop. I converted from a decade or so of GS ownership to an RT a year ago and not looked back. Loving the agility, stability and comfort, which are all a step up from the GS. However, visually I think I prefer the GS, but thats more of an emotion!

I picked up a 2017 1200 RT a couple of years ago and I’ve never looked back. The panniers are amazing albeit I do have the inner bags which make life easier for smaller day to day items. I leave them in place unexpanded and secured with top unzipped simple. I digress my RT now has 44k on it with no issues were I to change it I’d likely get another 😆

I expect you will be changing your panniers to a top opening system rather than the side opening panniers fitted to the RT. I seem to remember on an older video of yours about the RT that was something that you really didn't like, and at the time was a deal breaker for you, even though just about everything else about the RT you absolutely love. Anyway congratulations on getting your RT it is a fabulous bike and I am sure you will totally love it. I love mine, it is a wonderful bike. Happy biking.

Great video Toby...one heads up though. I have an R1250RT too with an innov K5 system but found if I use the bracket on the front as you have, then you may find it may hit the mudguard on occasion. Hard to believe when stationary I know, but just a heads up. I simply velcro'd mine to the exact same position as yours.

I only added the tank pads, cylinder head covers and rear crash guards (very easy to install). The handling comparison to the GS or the GSA that I owned both multiple times, is so much better due to the front rake angle and the 17" wheel/tire. This bike makes you feel like you are a better rider instantly. Nice New Year present to yourself. Safe rides. I am not so sure about those Huge Red stickers 😀

Happy New Year. I've taken your advice the last couple of years. I love your funny reviews. recently I bought DataTag for my new bike only to find it came with it (I got my money back). I got the Hex Ezcan after your review (awesome). I nearly bought a bike after you reviewed the R18 but had my eve on the BMW GS you were riding. However, BMW wouldn't let me try-out a GS with a pillion unless I put £10000 upfront. So I went to Triumph and they let me try a tiger 1200 GT PRO. I picked it up last week. Excellent bike Toby. I have the 1250 RT Sport (the blue one) and have loved it. I notice you have mounted your dash cam under the headlight. I also originally placed a camera there but I found that it kept getting hit by the front mud guard. I moved it onto the RH side of the radiator opening. Hopefully yours is short enough to clear the guard.

They certainly are. Loving Alvin 🤣. It’s not foiled against the front mudguard and is well clear. Have you got the ACC? Might be lower?

Love the RTs but I think my Pan European 1300 will certainly do very well for me, considering I've already done close to 11k miles since buying it in April! Just wish I had cruise control. Out of curiosity, with the Zumos you guys use, do you find it handy to have running even without a route plotted?
