Fab to meet you guys too!!! I am still struggling with the size and feel of the green cotton yarn but I think it’s because I am not used to working with cotton/linen.
@LindaJuneDisley7 ай бұрын
@@Tobyknits it does take a bit to get used to cotton, I am sure you will master it. Hugs xxx

Welcome back Anne, I also use markers to keep track of the rows as suggested by the Crazy Sock Lady.

Thanks Heather….think this will be a game changer for me in sock knitting

I am so jealous of your shorts! The high today in Edmonton was +10 C today. Definitely not shorts weather. Last week we had 30-60 km/hr winds and temps in the mid-teens. With a couple of days of rain. Very chilly. My lettuce & grass are loving it. The rest of my plants, not so much!

Oh wow! Well we are back into cooler weather.....almost turned the heat back on this morning. Think its only 15 degrees for the high.

Welcome back! I nearly got stuck in UK too once, I haven’t become an Australian citizen either, never felt the need, there was something wrong with my visa too, to get back into Australia, fortunately they were able to contact the embassy in Canberra (it was 4 am in the morning there 😧 and they sorted it out and let me on the plane, I would have been quite happy to stay longer but I think my family would have not been so happy he he. ❤

Oh gosh...it's so stressful isn't it?? Once I rescheduled my flight and knew Bob had received my card, I was able to just relax and enjoy myself more. All good for a few more years now.

Hi Anne, when you do your Musselburgh hat do you use the same needles? It looks fab and I love the colour 😻. Oh look at that sweet top it’s gorgeous. I love using the stitch markers to count my rows when I knit socks 👍🏻. Congratulations on reaching 2k that’s fabulous 🥳 x

it's winter here in Australia & i've just dug out my Bavarian (wagon-wheel) Blanket, that i started a couple of years before CoViD & still crocheting it; it's pure wool so it gets quite heavy the bigger it gets but it will be so warm! haven't decided what size i'm doing it yet, just gone past lap size, think i would like it to be big enough to snuggle under at least. mitre blanket is still going am still doing my EPP hexies too just not very often my house is chaos atm with the son & DiL moving in while they wait for their house to be built; it's been lovely having company though & they are also helping out with the renovations too it's wonderful to have you back, looking forward to the next episode your knitting is wonderful & very pretty thanx for sharing

Yes so you will know what I mean about working on blankets during the summer....way too hot! I am sad to put them away again, but.....You will have to post a photo in the group page of your Bavarian Blanket..I am intrigued! Oh gosh, did they move their furniture and stuff in to yours as well? Let's hope the house does not take too long to build ha ha. The company is lovely, but after a while, you will want your own space and peace and quiet back!!

We live in a very small place in North Yorkshire and recently we had 6,000 bikes pass through in memory of Si the Hairy Biker cook who passed away x

King Cole Footsie washes very well, I’ve used it several of those fruity colours
@Tobyknits7 ай бұрын
Oh good to know. Do you hang dry or can it go in the dryer?
@nannabetty13237 ай бұрын
I hang dry, the first pair of sock I knitted weee with King Cole Drifter, which I made a mistake on which you very kindly advised me where I had gone askew, they make great socks for cold feet in bed . There is no pilling at all, The Footsie yarns are delightful especially the Dragon Fruit shade

🎉🎉great to hear about ur trip,Anne,🎉 Nice to be home,, Those socks do look big,,,fingering ??or DK,,, For DK I go to 48sts,,, Take care, ELAINE 🏡
@Tobyknits7 ай бұрын
They are 4 ply….so fingering weight. The pattern starts at 72 but then decreases down after the rib. For mine I might go down a few needle sizes

Just a thought/question about the sweater and sock that you are thinking might be too big--maybe check the gauge now to see if it's changed since you swatched?
@Tobyknits7 ай бұрын
Swatch!!! Ha ha…I never swatch for socks….or anything really. The sweater is looking better it just feels weird to work with. I am not used to knitting something that big with cotton…
