I remember listening to this song when it came out, I was 10 and attended church every Sunday possible with my family. Over the next decade my mental health became increasingly worse and I became less involved in the church to the point I wanted nothing to do with god but after attempting to find fellowship and running into this song 6 months ago on accident I burst into tears and realized that no matter how far I try to stray away from god he always finds his way back to me and his unconditional love makes me feel complete and comforted. God has used this song and many other things to get me through really tough times. I really don’t know where I would be without Him. P.S. Do not be discouraged if people do not accept Jesus at first when you tell them about Him. God has used you to plant the seed, the Holy Spirit will guide them to Jesus (and most likely use God’s children to do so). Lots of times they accept the truth, and sometimes they don’t, all we can do is tell the truth and do God’s will. We can preach a sermon and live a sermon as well. I don't have all the answers, but the most important is that we PRAY! As you say, we need to take the spiritual warfare more seriously. The bible tels us to pray for our kings, authorities and so on, and we have to do just that. Keep praying! I'm not doing my share, and I need to pull myself together and pray more, as should we all. Just remember! Have no fear for what is happening, and for what will come in this world, but trust in God! He will not let His children down. I wouldn't worry about your country too much, all countries fall at some point, but its not the end of the world. God is bigger then any country and you need not worry with him at your side. People have held faith in him for thousands of years, we aren't going to stop now nor ever. Value your country, but value God more.

When I first heard this I didn’t even know it was a Christian song. I had a hard time accepting god and I still do sometimes. I sometimes didn’t feel like he cared for me because of all the suffering I went through. Although I went through so much, I’m working on believing that he loves me for me and loving him in return.
