Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint Matthew
Mt 12, 14-21
At that time, the Pharisees conspired against Jesus to put an end to him. Upon learning this, Jesus left there. Many followed him and he healed all the sick and strongly commanded them not to publish it, so that the words of the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
Look at my servant, whom I support;
to my chosen one, in whom I have my pleasure.
In him I have put my Spirit,
that he may make justice shine upon the nations.
He will not shout or cry,
he will not make his voice heard in the streets,
he will not break the cracked reed,
nor will he extinguish the wick that still smokes,
until he makes justice triumph on the earth;
and all nations will put their hope in him.
What does the word of God say?
The Word of God is living and effective and sharper than a double-edged sword. It penetrates to the root of the soul and spirit (Hebrews 4, 12). The Word of God is like a love letter from our Father God to guide us along the path of life in the midst of so many temptations and difficulties.
