What a shame this movie didn't do well domestically, it made up its 177 million cost from around the world, thank goodness, but did not do well in the states at all. I love the movie and have seen it several times, I have a feeling it will become a Blade Runner cult movie in the future... Blade Runner (the original) bombed when it was released, but ended up acquiring a huge cult following, which is why they did the reboot. I have a feeling the same will happen here.

Valerian has some truly incredible stunning visuals, very beautiful world building and very top notch CGI. I actually had a good time with this movie. It's a good mix of Avatar, Star Wars Prequels, Star Trek, a little bit of GI Joe & a little bit of a Matrix style action scenes. Characters and story is not all that great, Cara and Dehaan are fine, but sometimes the acting can be a little wooden at times. Rihanna was actually fun to watch, she was amazing. I'm not even a big fan of her yet her character was interesting. It's a good fun watch, decent movie.

Dane was SO miscast in this movie. He looks like the average pot-head, nerd, high school kid. WHY was he cast as the 'best space cop' in the galaxy again??? He was not believable in this movie. I don't think he could make it through basic training in any military -- let alone any special training.

Just came from the movies, the movie was ok, its a mix of Avatar and Star Wars but boring and long, the scary part was that there was a fire at the cinema and the movie stopped in the middle and nobody told us why, until one of the viewers went outside and heard the fire alarm and we all went outside, there was the firemen and everyone outside really scared, luckily it was nothing and they left and we went back in but I was really nervous throughout the rest of the movie. 😕
