Personally, I am surprised this memorial has not been commemorated. I don't live in USA. I remember this memorial being built. It is beautiful, breathtaking in it's simplicity. One can physically touch the name of each person. That gives poignant recognition to all those named and to all those that visit. It's important. They are important.

I don’t like that the Wall was designed by a Vietnamese woman, it’s like rubbing salt into the wounds of the soldiers who were there. Also, the design of the Wall is all wrong, you should never have the names of the dead soldiers at the feet of the people who are visiting the Wall. The names on the Wall should be at least 3 feet high maybe 4 and go up to about 7 feet high. So sad that the Wall itself even disrespects the fallen soldiers! The Vietnam Veterans just can’t catch a break! So sad 😢
