Being an empath is not easy, you feel everything. Happiness, sadness, anger, pain, loneliness, tiredness, isolation. You can be worn out easily by interactions with people. Being an empath you can help others in need. Empaths don't judge, they look at life differently then others. Stay strong empaths.

The minute i’m by myself it’s instant tranquility. Unfortunately that can have an affect on relationships with people. But I love that my mind has always been open and accepting of the spiritual aspect of life. There’s so much more than what we can see or understand. Yes, empath. It is a blessing and a curse. I can feel people's emotions right when the come in a door, and i become their pain. My mother was a nurse and was told that she was to empathetic and cared to much for her patients to be a nurse. There was a little boy abandoned in the hospital by his mother, he had a cleft palette, webb feet and a dozen other problems, he was 6 and looked as if he was 3 and he couldn't talk but my mother was so affectionate to this little boy he used to smile and wiggle in his bed every time he saw her. She used to buy him toys, clothes and took him home for Christmas day so he wouldn't be left by his own over the holidays. No one would even look at him and other nurses used to ask my mother why she would even bother with him. When she started work into another ward she tried to find out what happened to him but the head nurse wouldn't tell her were the boy was. Still to this day we have his photos and she talkes about him.

It’s such a relief to see that i’m not alone. I’ve been feeling others’ pain since childhood, now that i’m almost 30 it’s at its worst. Physically feeling others’ pain is so exhausting. I can’t look at anyone remotely in pain or uncomfortable. My dad almost sliced off his finger with slapping door and the moment i saw his finger, my finger hurts from the same spot. Not just family but other beings too. Sponging others’ pain makes me depressed 24:7.

It's great that people with additional abilities like synesthesia work in jobs that provide purpose and meaning. I love what they do, it's inspiring. I don't have any ability like that but I would want to think I am considerate or empathetic enough to understand what people close to me are going through and help them out. We're using a fraction of our brain's capabilities, amazing what else we can do if only people cared more for each other.

Mirror touch synesthesia is different from empathy, empathy is an emotional experience but with MTS you can quite literally feel others physical pain from disease or injuries (which you’re right it CAN make a person highly empathetic)

What a great segment! I find it interesting that I stumbled across this. I have been feeling like I have a different type of I guess ability and I started noticing it more and more as I get older that I can feel certain things from people who still point that I’ve learned to find comfort in being by myself when she said how exhausted she is being around other people I felt that I understood what she meant but I think all of us empaths are on a spectrum it’s cool to know that we are out there and that there are others like us.

I have synesthesia too, but only with numbers, and letters, as well as feelings/emotions. Not pain tho 🤷♀️ some people see different things for food and days and songs and it’s very cool to see how other people process things as well as myself. Also, my aunt and my sister have synesthesia and mom had it too.

I've watched over a hundred of megyn Kelly's videos and this truly resonates with the ability I've known my whole life.. I'm about to turn 34 on the 21st of this month and not until I survived domestic abuse and almost being murdered by my high school sweetheart that we spent 12 years together..that I decided to explore beyond Christian religion that I realized I had premonitions and,saw a,wonderful lady that helped me understand that not only did I have this but new husband and my miracle baby almost 3 a half now....😇.. But her biological father also has similar abilities...this has made me finally want to subscribe...!!! I would adore reading this book

I too am an empath but also feel that exact sensation she describes. Ofc you feel their sadness and pain as an empath, but when you visually see the injury you feel a drop in your stomach and then you physically feel the actual pain. It’s another level. It’s not only emotions you sense like other situations in everyday life, but feel it physically shoot through your own body. If you have ever felt it, you know it’s different.

Oh my goodness. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has this. It has been a part of my life since the early '90's. I had prayed that God would help me to have empathy for others. I'll tell you what. He answers prayer. Not only has He put in me the feeling of physical pain as a gut-wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach, but He also gave me the ability to feel the same emotions that others are going through. If someone loses a loved on, I feel absolute loss and heartache. If someone is thrilled because they learned they finally conceived a baby after years of infertility, I feel the same overwhelming and absolute joy. I wanted to be a nurse very badly, but this extra "sense" that God has put in me would make it impossible for me to not break down. As hard as it can sometimes be, I am so very thankful for this thing He has put in me called mirror-touch synesthesia. I had no idea there was an actual name for it.

ever since I was a kid I knew there was something a little bit different about me but could never put it into words. I hated being around people who were ill, I hated passing ambulances or going into a building where there were paramedics, I would see someone cry on TV and cry I would almost mimic what I was seeing, subconsciously. It wasn't until about a year and a half ago that I heard the word Empath and it was described to me. I started doing research & everything finally made sense. All of the puzzle pieces were coming together. Hearing that word for the first time changed my life. Everything I felt as a child that I couldn't explain or put into words, i now understood. I started understanding why I felt certain ways about certain people or in certain places, etc. I was told that it is a blessing and a curse. Currently I feel like it is more of a curse than a blessing. I feel other people's emotions as my own and sometimes don't even realize it. It is very overwhelming. I'm still learning how to use this "power" without it negatively affecting me. I can mentally understand how it is a blessing but have yet had the chance to really experience the full benefits of it. These two people are 100% empaths, just with other extreme abilities alongside it.

This is called being ...EMPATHIC and it's a Spiritual connection to energy, emotion & source connection. It's just SO sad that science "researchers" are getting in the way of trying to make us make "logical" sense of this energetic source connection with ourselves. They are describing energy through their inner Chackras. People help understand this is MUCH more than some "medical/science" diagnoses. Much love & light!

Kristína Szabó she literally feels it. Your nerves sense the pain and send those signals to your brain, which causes the literal feeling of pain. Her disorder makes her brain receive those signals without actually feeling the physical pain. But she literally does FEEL it because her brain is making her feel them.

Bree F.~ Don't you wish people would research before commenting? Mirror-touch synesthesia is a rare condition which causes individuals to experience the same sensation (such as touch) that another person feels. For example, if someone with this condition were to observe someone touching their cheek, they would feel the same sensation on their own cheek. Synesthesia, in general, is described as a condition in which a stimulus causes an individual to experience an additional sensation.[1] Synesthesia is usually a developmental condition; however, recent research has shown that mirror touch synesthesia can be acquired after sensory loss following amputation.[2] Not the same as an empath.

That’s so interesting. Do you say you physically feel what they are going through? I’ve always been convinced I could tell how they feel and even what they think sometimes, but never has it affected my own body or emotions. I’ve trained and re-trained many horses that were dangerous and unpredictable to other people, and been able to touch wildlife including birds since I was a child. Like you said you can take their pain away sometimes, l feel I can do that with fear and especially anger, but they have to make eye contact for it.

Too bad they didn't go deeper into explaining how this actually works... Is it just a matter of your brain perceiving something (like a cut on the arm) and then imagining what that would feel like? Because that's what I thought at first and then the "brain doctor" talked about knowing something he couldn't have known (the blood clots in the female patient's lungs).... I see words and letters, the week, the month etc all in their own colors and shapes, and am very very sensitive to people's energy etc. But I've never heard of this kind of synesthesia.....
@EllieBellie_1116 жыл бұрын
Marlies Kroon It's just part of being human. We all have some form of this empathy and we all think about shapes, numbers, colors, letters, etc in our own way. It is just association. The blood clot part was bogus.
