This might surprise you but to loose fewer fish at the boat try fishing mono as the stretch at the boat is a great thing by the boat. I fish 17lb mono and even in heavy weeds you don’t break off and I like 9 inch titanium leader 20 lb. Just FYI my largest 47 and many over 40 plus. Pike slam a lure and stretch is a good thing.
