I am blessed to be a good friend of Howard and his family. I live in Chatsworth Lake Annex near Valley Circle and Box Canyon. The fire started at the top of Woolsey Canyon a mile away thank god the wind was blowing away from us. I called Howard and told him the fire was headed his way and said he could use my truck if needed, that was the last time I heard from him for weeks. I finally was able to drive to his home and what I saw made me sick to my stomach. One thing he did not mention is in all of that rubble they found Rada's wedding ring. Their new home is absolutely beautiful. Howard and his family are some of the nicest people you could ever know...

this guy is big part of heart success. Often hidden in the shadows, he is able to play almost everything.... nuff said

I’ve been a huge Heart fan for most of my life. What has always impressed me the most, is the level of talent that Howard Leese and the Wilson sisters have. All three of these artists are extremely gifted multi instrumentalist. Howard is a total music genius! I’ve been fortunate to have met him twice. In Houston and Dallas Texas. Such a wonderful guy, always glad to meet to meet his fans. His guitar playing not only rocks, but is so beautiful, too. He totally hit a grand slam when he started singing, All Along The Watchtower. He has a great voice, and has always sang background vocals. I knew he could do it, although he’s always preferred not to. I just so thankful that he’s still able to keep doing what he does best, sharing his awesome gift of classic rock music. Howard Leese is definitely one of the greatest musicians that this world will ever know. True Rock Royalty! 🎸🎹🎤🎶🤘🏻

This was the best interview ever! So natural between friends and fellow musicians. I had the great pleasure of knowing Howard and he's the BEST, both as a person and a musician. So sorry to hear about the fire and his beloved guitars. Hi Howard & Rada! Love, Debby from HB (Bobby) 💕

Great interview! The mark of a truly nice guy and a great musician is longevity in bands, especially with different groups of people. Howard clearly seems like a great guy. Sorry to hear about his house and guitars. That's quite a shame.

I went to Middle school and High School w Howard. He was a superstar THEN. I used to watch his band “The Zoo” rehearse at Robertson Playground on Robertson and Airdrome in west LA. The night after my father was murdered in Feb. 1970 I was riding my bicycle around and stopped at this community center across from Hamilton high school and there was Howard sitting all by himself playing Jeff Beck’s acoustic guitar arrangement of “Greensleeves” note for note .

One of my guitar heroes besides Jimi Page and a few others.....Loved him in Heart...spot on, great sound,..never missed a note... everything he played with those solos just fit perfectly with those great songs and we're highly emotional.

It's interesting how the other guys from the original lineup only blame the girls, when in reality they decided to leave after some creative difference (only Roger was fired for his destructive behavior). But the other guys love to say that the girls sold their souls and blah blah blah. I always thought that for Howard to stay with them, being an objective witness to what had happened, he had to know that it wasn't all the girls' fault. Listening to him describe how upset Nancy was, that she got up and left the rehearsal (which was in her own house)😁, I see that they did try to defend their compositions, their essence, their belief. But the bigger the label, the more money they invest and the more power they take. It's a reality, ask The Bangles. In the 80s, music had changed, and if they had not adapted they would have disappeared. I think that with the original lineup, Heart would not have survived the 80s. Ann, Nancy and Howard carried Heart into the next millennium.

I've only Heard bragging about the golden eagle, Till now there's no video not even in the 80's where you can see him playing It. Not even the 100 run made in 2009.
