What an excellent interview. I'm not the biggest Spawn fan but it's wonderful to know Todd is very knowledgeable and not aiming to milk readers, just like the Big 2 tend to do. Or the companies who own them wasting big bucks on some very mediocre flicks and shows. The publishing side deserves far more support.

Honestly at that 2.99 price point I am considering adding Spawn back to my reading list - honestly what Todd gives to every project he works on at duck a low price point is amazing. The DC figures he does are amazing - I have 7 or 8 at least and am looking for a few others. I have a new found respect for Todd as a person these days thanks mainly to Sal.

I've never bought a Todd comic or product but I loved hearing him talk about value for money and caring about the consumer, and just giving a shit. Or at least, pretending to give a shit. It's really wholesome and refreshing. Just wish I were more into spawn.

It's telling how many creators are repeat guests. Sal's so good at turning an "interview" into a natural conversation. Sal is like the James Lipton of comics.

The Spawn movie is the most important thing that can help to further the series at this point. It needs to happen and it needs to be done right. Can you imagine a Spawn film at the same caliber as Sin City?

Todd Jessica Priest has a lot of potential in todays climate. You are writing her perfectly. I love how independent she is. She can be your wolverine for sure. The universe figure is bomb too!

With love and respect...I like how Todd likes to harp on keeping books at $2.99 and drops Spawns Universe for $5.99 with 6+ variants...the week after Venom200 kicked our ass at $9.99...COME ON...oh I dont have to buy them all?...ya like that's gana happen!

Back in the 90's Spawn was one of those entertainment mediums that helped pose a philosophical question in my mind that just kept growing in my teenage and adult years. And that question was if there is a God and a Devil what if it's not Good Vs Evil. What if it's just Evil vs Evil, and that is what spawn was with the conflict of heaven and hell. Spawn, Legacy of Kain, and early Nine Inch Nails helped pose that gnostic question in my head that just kept growing over time. What if God actually is evil? Todd needs to go back to that dark atmosphere with horror themes and gnostic philosophical questions. I hate the Super Hero approach he's going with Spawn. Spawn works best as part horror, part fantasy, part noir, and part philosophy. He needs to make his HellSpawns gross again with maggots and worms crawling in their rotting bodies. He needs to show more Demons ripping and tearing Humans apart in the Alleys in a horror fashion, and he needs to show something completely messed up on the heaven side to show how monstrous and evil they truly are as well behind closed doors. If he wants to introduce villains that are not part of Heaven or Hell, he should probably introduce fantasy elements instead of goofy supervillain stuff that we've already seen a million times. Todd should treat his universe like it's the World of Darkness equivalent. That would work for something like spawn.

MY QUESTION IS. Why did it take so long for him to do this. McFarlane should of made SPAWN'S UNIVERSE bigger back in the 90'S. Back when SPAWN was the No.#1 COMIC BOOK character.
