@@jumpinjohnnyruss really? That’s your takeaway? It’s winter in northern Wisconsin. It can kill you either way if you’re out there too long without proper winter gear. All Jayme had were the clothes on her back and the oversized boots she stole from her kidnapper. She had no idea where she was or whether or not she could find someone to help her. It’s not hyperbolic to assume she could have died trying to escape him. She was so fortunate she found help.

The fear of this happening to one of my kids is exactly why I never feel 100% at ease when they're out of my sight. It's a bitter double-edged sword; I want my kids to grow up confident, independent and functioning adults, but I also want to keep them safe so that they reach adulthood. Of course I understand the odds are statistically low, but the reality of the odds never being zero will forever chill me to my core.

Apparently, your kids are not safe even if they are at home with you. Maybe someone could have shot the intruder once they broke in. But, getting the gun from the safe and being ready to shoot would takes some forethought and luck. If not that, we have to live like these people did, hoping we beat the odds.

Jake reminds me of a young man I used to know. When he was a teenager, he pulled his car over and exposed himself to a girl riding her bike. He had vanity plates on his car with his name on them, so it was pretty easy for her to remember when she told the police. He also went through a toll booth without his pants on. Years later he happened to be following a school bus and spotted a girl getting off. He then made it a point to stalk her getting on and off the bus. I guess he felt guilty about this, because he called the police and confessed what he wanted to do with her, and he was arrested and his mug shot was in the paper, and on the Internet. Hopefully this is the end of his career as a sexual deviant.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 to his stupidity in the beginning. But this is very disturbing. He is literally screaming for help. But people either cannot or will not do what is needed. Even then, depending on where he is, they may just do this BS "soft on crime, criminal rights" shit that keeps happening. Who knows how many victims he will have before something happens. I hope not though.

The last charachteristic Dr Grande pointed out catches my attention because it somewhat describes my childhood. Growing up, I never had friends. Not because I was unliked, I didn't want any friends. I wanted to be left alone. I went to a small school, for whatever reason, the school used to tell my parents that I was weird for being a loner. I could understand the school's concern if I was getting into trouble, but I wasn't. This was the early 1970s when everyone was a child psychologist. I never had friends in middle school or high school, nor did I attend any events. I did get married right out of high school to another introvert and we have enjoyed a happy 40 years together with no friends. I have also enjoyed a lengthy career at a job where I work alone at nights. Point is, contrary to popular belief, not all loners are a threat. Weird? Maybe. I just don't care to socialize with people, and it has served me well for nearly 60 years. I have never been used, taken advantage of, betrayed, stabbed in the back, or any of the problems that come with having friends. I want to add that school officials shouldn't tell parents their kid is weird for being a loner, especially if the kid isn't getting into trouble. It still pisses me off the school did that to me.

My son is the same story and I watched his peers glare at him like he was a murderer in the making. But he is and was the kindest gentle soul they could know. One good one is all it takes and these kinds of people are happiest with others just like them. I'm happy you found a great partner.

@Randy.E.R
@Randy.E.R Жыл бұрын
@@user-lk2qf4rt3m I understand what you are saying and the need for personal time. I think even extroverts need personal space from time to time. Your boyfriend may not understand this need, especially if you haven’t been together very long. He may immediately think “what have I done?” He might feel like he is driving you away. I think the best thing you can to is reach out every so often just to let him know that you are okay and that you are thinking of him. I would do it through a text so that he can’t drag you into a conversation. From a guy’s point of view, it would mean the world to get a text or note saying he is being thought of. I mentioned that I have been married 40 years to an introvert. I work alone at nights and my wife works days. We spend very little time together; she comes home from work as I am leaving. She admittedly loves being home alone at night with all the lights out while she reads or works crossword puzzles. And I don’t take that personally. If I take vacation time off work and am home for more than a few nights, it starts to upset her routine. Again, that doesn’t bother me. Just the same, if she is home during the mornings before I go to work, it starts getting on my nerves. The weekends provide us enough time together to keep us happy. People think we have a weird marriage. Who cares? We have been together for four decades so it obviously works for us.

True. I wonder why that happens? When a person is angry and doesn't act on it, they may fantasize about extreme ways to "punish" what they believe is the source of their pain, to mend their injury. Only, the content of their fantasy unfolds like a dream, out of their control. As if they are watching a movie, something imposed onto their awareness. Where do intrusive thoughts come from and what shapes them, I wonder... I'm saying this because I remember as a youngster, being quite angry and feeling helpless in a situation, having a fantasy, the whole movie in my head, about dragons and all sorts of scary creatures just tearing some people appart, that's how angry I was. I can recognise narcissistic components in my personality and I can see how they react with anger, why i think you pin pointed that connection well 👍

I'm so glad you covered this. I have heard it before but it was lacking your in depth analysis. Thanks so much Todd! I always felt like it was strange that he killed her parents first and then only kidnapped her and left her unharmed. What was the purpose of killing her parents only to keep Jayme 🤔 I assume he just wanted to possess a girl but didn't know what to do with her once he had procured her.

I think he knew what he wanted to do with the young woman, but when the time came, unlike with her parents, he found that he couldn't "pull the trigger". This guy embodies the term loser. Honestly, Jayme looks like she could've kicked his ass when he wasn't armed. Rarely is a teenage girl favored in a fight with a grown (well sorta) man. But, in this case, I'd take Jayme and the points.

I live in northern WI, but east of where this happened. To this day, if I'm the first car approaching a school bus that's stopped, I stay WAAAY far back so that any weirdos behind me can't be ogling the kids getting off the bus. I raised 4 kids, all who rode the school bus- it's 16.75 miles one way just to the middle school and high school from my house, and that's not even as far as some as our kids have to go to get to/from school- in this state we have the largest or one of the largest areas in terms of miles for school bus routes. It was really scary for me to hear that he was ogling kids getting off the bus- when this is such a common experience for our kids around here.

@uwsupergirl
@uwsupergirl Жыл бұрын
@@eadweard. It's actually not bizarre. I don't go out of my way to do it- I just do it, if I'm in that position. It's quite simple and just ONE action that may or may not have any consequence but it's easy to do when I'm in that position. You obviously aren't a mother.

I stop pretty far back too. Driving school bus for just a year taught me how often kids will suddenly turn back or dart out without warning, or straight up cross the street when they were dropped off house side and should not be doing that. I want to make sure that I have plenty of time to see, process, and react without giving the kid or myself a scare, and also anyone behind me as well. I don't care why someone's stopping with plenty of room, it's a good idea and we should all be doing it. Whatever you think is a good length, add another car length.
