Amazing! I have 10 year old twin boys and their hair texture is so different from many other mixed children I see. I have a hard time know what’s to do with it as a white woman who isn’t even good at doing Caucasian hair lol. I can’t French braid or anything lol. I feel like I’d need intensive in person training to ever be able to do my boys hair :( I love watching your videos though! I also am from canada and live pretty far from any big cities so their is literally almost no black barbers or hairstylists in my area.

I couldn’t see the other side of the baby’s head 😢 made parting (which is already my biggest struggle) kind of hard I kept moving the video around tryna find atleast one angle of the other side and there never was I kinda jus winged it at that point

With his hair type and how active he his, the styles (unless small single braids) last about 2 weeks, which isn't too bad. But if wrap it every night, during play time, and things like that it'll help extend the longevity of the style.

@@divasargent215 it's such a struggle to find out how to maintain the styles sometimes. I don't know how comfortable you are with heat, but you can try blowdrying his hair before you braid it (even with just cold air like us) and it'll help at least stop the hair from curling up as much/right away and getting as messy as quick. Plus the products you us as well, if they're water based it's just going to curl the hair right back up, try pomade type products, and use the leave ins and stuff in the hair when it's still damp before doing anything else not when styling. Hopefully this helps! 🤞🏽💙

@@keepingupwithkham yes I’m water based and grease makes it to greasy I will try that I also use a Durga kid size I’m going to figure how to keep it on his head at night you know what I was scared I didn’t know if it would damage his curls I will try heat

@@divasargent215 if the durag isn't working (and if you're not already using this) you can use a satin/silk pillowcase. I get ours from Dollartree and it works perfectly and helps keep the hair nicer longer and from cotton pillowcases messing up the hair and damaging the perimeter of his hair. And sameee, I am not a huge fan of the blowdryer but it is useful when they have such thick or curly hair. Just make sure to use a light heat protectant, low heat if you're using heat or the cold air option. Hope this works out better for you 🤞🏽💙

I usually keep a style in for a week but that's mostly because I record for KZbin so frequently. If I wasn't recording it would probably be two weeks. His hair is soft and that causes the styles to get messy looking quite easily and quickly so they don't last as much as they could since he's sooooo active lol but if you use the right products while braiding, and use the right things to keep their hair protected during sleep and maybe even during play, then styles can last for 2-4 weeks. Low manipulation hairstyles, lots of protective styling, moisture retention, use oils and use minimal chemical products and time. There’s no real trick to it but his hair will grow, don’t worry! 💙

Yesss girl this is the trick, so happy that you're excited about our video. My rule for grabbing hair would be just take a little but, you don't want to have the braid too think, too unbalanced, you want it to look sleek and slim, so eyeball it just to make sure but I usually just grab a little with the tips of my fingers as I'm grabbing and going through. Hope this helps! 💙
