MG is so advanced! You guys are such great parents. You actually teach her things, get on her level and respond to her in an appropriate way. Has anyone noticed "other" popular vloggers; their toddlers are quiet lacking in the speech department and their parents always respond with a dismissive "yeah" instead of actually listening and responding.
@ELMorbid9 жыл бұрын
+Ben Marleau We've noticed that too! Our 20 month old says more than some kids a year older than her. You've gotta talk to your kids and listen to them like Cullen & Katie do.
@taliazimmaro34519 жыл бұрын
You really do! I student teach in a daycare and babysit and you really have to teach them and talk to them! I've noticed that mostly the parents that do that come out with there kid talking at a very young age! My cousin is the same way. He's 3 and can talk in full sentences and he loves instruments and can literally say and name all of the instruments it's breath taking haha. some of them are big names! But reading and talking to children at a very young age will really sink in to them!
@erine76019 жыл бұрын
I agree, and not just with speech either. For example, Ellie and Jared have a whole closet full of toys but i think their collection is definitely lacking in more developmental toys. And maybe it's just that we don't see it, but most of the time their kids are watching tv or playing with humans. I mean, its not a bad thing but there should be balance. For Calvin from Ellie and Jared he should definitely have more toys where he needs to push and listen to what it does, and as far as Jackson goes, he should be drawing more, or learning to pretend. I dont know everything about their lives, so I'm not saying they dont but it sure doesnt seem like it to me. I could be wrong but I dont think Jackson knows his colors or shapes, or even letters, where as Gaines is learning them quickly and 8-9 months younger than him. And his speech pronunciation isn't much better than Gaines', though he does know more words and can form sentences better, but with such an age difference thats understandable.
@erine76019 жыл бұрын
+Reborns Of Mine And that isnt meant to be rude to anyone else, or single out Ellie and Jared. They were just an example, and they're one out of many families i see this happening too. Really I just want to point out what a good job Cullen and Katie are doing as parents, and how advanced Gaines is. And Ellie and Jared seem to be such good parents (as well as Daily Bumps, etc) that it surprised me out of all the categories this would be the one they fall behind in.

Wait - she's been saying "hi guys" for a while now, isn't that a sentence?
@meganringer17559 жыл бұрын
I thought so too, but it's technically not a sentence because it doesn't have a subject and verb. but "cut it" is because it has a subject and verb. :)
@memoirsofamama29809 жыл бұрын
I'm a trained speech therapist and we were always told that phrases like 'hi guys' don't count as a sentence because although we know it to be two words, to the toddler it's what we call a 'learnt phrase', it is learnt as a whole rather than them putting together the different parts of grammar to form a sentence. 'Cut it' definitely counts as a sentence though as it's a verb and a pronoun- well done MG, you're a clever girlie 😊🎀 She's very advanced for her age, I'd say atleast 9 months ahead in terms of her speech and vocabulary

As long as it has a subject and a verb and states a full thought, it is a sentence. Technically you can have a one word sentence as well if the subject is an implied you. If you break it down, her sentence has an implied you as the subject, cut as the verb, and it as the direct object. Sorry, had a bit of teacher slippage there. :)

This is great for MG . Talking so early. I read this article about how if you give them a textured blanket to sleep on ( for younger children) but also for someone MG age you could make a textured stuffed animal . Anyway, the textures stimulate brain activity and awareness. Therefore development and growth speeds up, such as speech and walking . I will definitely send you guys the blanket and pillow !

The speech pattern for two year olds is characterized by two word phrases and sentences. And she already knows a bunch of words, more than a normal one year old. So I'm not surprised that she's saying sentences this early.

It's called telegraphic speech (also known as 2 word speech). It's when 2 year olds use mostly nouns and verbs but they don't include auxiliary words and they speak like a telegram from back in the day i.e "go car" ☺ hope this was informative I learned it in AP Psych. Gaines is adorable by the way!
